This is the cure to cancer. Bye.
cure...hah.
too bad i didn't factor that little recipe into my breast cancer grant a few years back...i probably would have been awarded a shitload more money.
that's about as ridiculous as the natural cures book infomercial...

Going through treatments kills your immune system off, and vegitables and fruits carry a lot of bacteria. Normal people have no problem with this but getting sick while getting treatment is extremely deadly, even if it's the sniffles.

yea, you've got to be extra careful with that kind of stuff...also things like visits to the dentist can pose additional risks...

I was told not to go at all while getting treatment.

Works for some people m8. Hell, if people would eat like I suggested (plus doing an assortment of other things) they most likely wouldn't get teh cancer in the first place.
But what do I know right?

there must be a way to turn on your immune system to fight any cancer. how can you explain some people that are riddled with cancer through their whole body and somehow beat it?
unless we are missing part of the story my view is that a certain state of mind can be reached that allows the body to heal itself.

not a whole lot. a friend of mine had cancer in the nuts that spread through his body. doctors had him pegged for death after hardcore treatment.
he just accepted it, totally changed his attitude, was a really happy guy.
that was three years ago, he's alive today and has been clean for a long time.
what i was getting at is how can you explain that SOMETIMES the body just decides to rid itself of cancer?

just to clarify that if i had cancer i would get medical treatment instead of moving into a monestary and try to get my mind to heal myself.
the mind/body is incredibly complex, we really are only on the first page of a rather large book.

Sorry, it's just I'm bugged when people develop little 'theories' to explain things when they don't know all of the information which is available on the subject. I kind of blame anyone with that way of thinking for comedy gems like religion and UFOs.

nah most of my views are from real life observations.
there is always more than one way to skin a cat basically. getting too narrow minded no matter how much you know/think you know about something is bad.
thinking outside the box, getting a different angle on something is good.

You suggested a preventative approach...curing the malady with a diet is a different thing altogether.
And the bottom line is that, in many cases, if certain genetic conditions exist, you will be developing cancer regardless of your diet.

People's immune systems can respond differently in terms of effectiveness. I believe that is where the overall health issue comes into play - you eat right, exercise, etc., you've got a healthier immune system and perhaps a better chance of survival. But not always.

It's not nearly as simple as that, mainly because cancer is a highly varying disease. At its simplest level, cancer is just a bunch of cells that are growing when they're not supposed to be. That means there isn't much for the immune system to target, since it works (mainly) by recognizing foreign material. Even if it could, you're not addressing the usual underlying problem causing cancer, which could range from mutations in the cancerous tissue itself to genetic abnormalities in the extracellular matrix, leading to increades growth hormone production. A better approach than just hoping your body will heal itself would be to utilize immunotherapy of cancers -- something that's already in progress -- or cancer vaccines (my current area of study).
Nevertheless, no matter how natural you want to get about cancer treatment, you're not going to get your immune system to react properly against leukemia and lymphoma. Teriba's current problem is that he doesn't have a useful immune system, so achieving a higher state of mind won't help much.

I don't want to make you think I disagree. Understanding that the immune system has potential to treat and prevent most maladies is what got me into the field in the first place. I'd put a natural functioning immune system in front of medication any time I could. Cancer just doesn't happen to be one of those times (at least not yet).
btw, I over-simplified my post. There are cancers that are targeted by the immune system quite well (e.g. virus-caused cancers); I just got going on the problems with cancer immunotherapy because it's my field and I've spent the last few days discussing these very same hurdles. It's hard for me to tell what is and is not work these days, so I'll try stepping off my soapbox for a bit.

hey no problem here. feel free to stay on the soapbox as long as you like.
i can really only speculate with the miniscule bit of information i have. plus it's really interesting to read what someone in the field has to say.
