I've always liked macro shots. How you compose your picture in macro photography is just as important (if not more so) than pics of other types/subjects.
I happen to like the pic Splish took of the bolt, not because it's a clear pic of a bolt, but my eye was drawn back to the boat and across the entire picture. The main point of that pic (for me) wasn't the bolt at all.
I'm going to see if I can get a clear shot of one of my favorite macro shots. If I can get a decent snap of it, I'll post it up. In the meantime, here's a non-macro shot from my old crappy camera.
