people should call you Rosalie, as Rosie sounds generic and a tad tacky :icon14:
Generic maybe, but I think it's more cutsie than tacky. I love the name Rosalie, but everyone just shortens it anyway.... I always think its cool when someone decides to call me by my full name, though.

Do you really speak of the pompetis (OK, I fucking challenge ANYONE on this forum to tell me what he REALLY says, no lyrics sites, either) of love?

Well shit, that kept me busy for about ten minutes. It's just a fantasy word, is it?

well when I think of "Rosie", I see either a middleaged diner waitress chewing gum or a Madame.
Rosalie adds character or something. i dunno :paranoid: stop looking at me

It's a line from the Steve Miller song "The Joker".

"Some people call me Maurice
'Cause I speak of the pompitous of love"

That's from a lyrics site, if you listen to the song it doesn't make any more sense.

I figured that out, yeah. Then i spent about 9 minutes looking for the meaning of the word pompitous. Stumbled across this while i was looking:

http://www.quadranet.org/tokezone/zones/maurice.html
It appeared even Miller himself was uncertain how pompitous was spelled. It appeared as "pompatus" in at least two books of sheet music but as "pompitous" in the lyrics included with "Recall the Beginning."

Miller has said little about the P-word over the years. In at least one interview, fans say, he claimed, "It doesn't mean anything - it's just jive talk."
So i laughed and gave up.

lol, I always assumed it just said "properties" of love.

I thought surely Miller himself would know wtf it mean.
