dear thread starter: I couldn't help but notice that for some reason you feel obligated to defend your opinion on the matter, where your original post felt more like an invitation to hear peep's opinion and not to open a debate, so suck it up respect other people's opinion and they might do the same if you don't act like a fucking brocken record, we already know your stand on the subject.

Dear uniformed reader: I'm not defending my position. I'm dispelling assumptions that are being made by reiterating my position for the people who are obviously not reading the entire thread. I'm sorry you are having so much trouble following along. Please make your point and fuck right off, as your opinion means a lot to me.
Thanks....

I guess that would depend on your company's policy.

that says somthin about ur character
also ive never heard him -as far as i can remember- talk down about his guys
He's simply trying to provoke an immature arguement with me. Just ignore him, it's easier and way more productive.

looks like Sargepa is confusing a moral claim about the relative importance of humans and animals with the more mundane issue of whether or not a person being very upset over the death of a much-loved pet is grounds for a day off work. the issue in the latter case is the strength of feeling of a HUMAN, so the day off would be granted on the basis of a HUMAN response to pet death, and not be granted as a philosophical pronouncement on the relative worth of humans and animals
dumbass

i'm not so sure they're unrelated. There seems to be ground for a relationship between the cognitive complexity of an organism, and its ability to form meaningful relationships with other cognitively complex organisms like ourselves.
This is why dogs, dolphins, and many primates can form deeper relationships with humans than can ants.
YGP is obviously prejudiced against non human animals. He believes that when they die, there is nothing awaiting them.
He believes heaven and hell are only for humans.
He's a closed minded bigot.

what other view is there? I'm not a telepath so the only view I'm able to give right now is my own.
And if I had another person's view, why in the name of nude-pumpkin-seed would I convey
that person's view. Surely that is
their job, no?

i think that fits into the definition of an asshole.
which of course... ygp is.
bottome line:
unless their job is actually important to society; if someone takes joe-tuesday off because they want to clip their toenails... who cares... its their time and their reason.
if you think your corporate money-chasing is so important that you have to be there all the time and never take personal days; you're an asshole.

the post was about an employee .
and you twisted into something flakey else and called him a bunch of imature namecalling
if you had a family to provide for- or to pay for ur own bill urself you may have a clue .
you jus seem happy to personally attack him like a hypocrit.
all the animals you eat, did you take a day off and cry for all of them?
do you even need a job to pay all your own way or does someone else pay all for you?
jobs can be very important to live

ah i c - so you're upset that I was being insulting.
If you read my posts carefully in this thread, you can see that the bigot statement was an ironic one - i obviously don't believe animals go to heaven any more than i believe that humans do.
It was also designed to provoke a response from him, as he'd ignored my previous points on the matter.
so - are we going to the zoo tomorrow?
