I cant beleive Geoff uses a CRT. Did you know that FBI can read the radio signal emited by them, and read your screen.
If you have Linux you can use a program caled Tempest for Eliza to brodcast FM radio trough your CRT monitor.

Yes, they might be expensive for the spec i listed but that tech will make it's way down to the value market, when it does it's good night CRT. If you use an aRGB display going back to a normal LCD or a good CRT is hard, in my line of work.

You show me a CRT with just a few of those and you'll win.

Last I checked even the crappiest of CRT monitors where all progressive scan. It's only T.V. sets that interleave.

I'm not sure what you are getting at there. Still does not change the fact that pretty much every computer CRT monitor is progressive scan. It's only old televisions that use interlace.

I must admit that when LCD's came out first they weren't that good and the ghosting was probably horrible. But now I can't see many reasons why some people will still opt for CRT. I went from my CRT to LCD a couple of years ago and i experienced no ghosting, improved image quality and brightness. Now I can't imagine going back to CRT

I think what he's going for is that the entire display is "painted' simultaneously. There isn't a scan time. The top left and bottom right pixels display content from the same frame at the same time. But IMO, that's not nearly as important as the ghosting that still seems to plague LCDs.
