Re: Portal 2 in Februari!
Different company now, innit. Infact, wasn't it just one guy who bought it? I've ordered from them online since the changeover and they're decentseremtan wrote:lol, zavvi

Co-op was fucking awesome as well....I hope Valve let people make user content for this as I need to do more testing...!!!
Re: Portal 2 in Februari!
Did you finish it? We put a few hours into it yesterday and we're nearing the end I believe, but my head just turned to jelly after a while. I'd say the co-op puzzles are even better designed than the SP ones actually. Also good to see the humour and writing also stays consistant into co-op.Don Carlos wrote:Co-op was fucking awesome as well....I hope Valve let people make user content for this as I need to do more testing...!!!
All in all, it's a solid game. Hopefully future DLC / user maps will give us a reason to go back to it once it's over.
Re: Portal 2 in Februari!
ok, people moaning about lowres textures and the source engine showing its age need to stfu. that entire sp intro sequence with the tilting and swaying apartment and the light refraction through broken glass look more natural and realistic than any game has ever been able to pull off.
90128310x20382103 textures and 72 pass PPL might make for pretty screenshots, but this engine in motion has everything pretty much beat.

Yeah man me and this German dude smashed it last night. My head was turning to Jelly too but I plowed on through and managed to clock it. The puzles are genius towards the end...user created content could be astoundingly good I think. I would go as far to say that I would join a mod team should one be created. I might not be able to use Hammer but I think I could come up with quite a few complex puzzles that would be enjoyable to play.brisk wrote:Did you finish it? someone ban don carlos for being a flaming douchebag...it's embarrassing...
Re: Portal 2 in Februari!
Co-op done. Took about 5 hours in total. I think I even prefered it over the SP campaign in truth.
Total game time was 15 hours (about 2 of which was spent watching extras and a bit of commentary) so good value for money in the end.
Valve haven't made a shit game yet. Posh bastards.

I can mostly agree with that, but Blue Shift was pretty shit.

Re: Portal 2 in Februari!
Just finished SP now, it was decent.
The ending made me laugh a little with the song, and the elevator ( and the garbage that followed you )
All in all, cant wait for Co-op.

Blue Shift was done by Gearbox (who are currently working on DNF). Also blue shift was a good game, but cut so ridiculously short that it was pointless.obsidian wrote:I can mostly agree with that, but Blue Shift was pretty shit.
Re: Portal 2 in Februari!
Opposing force was way better
Re: Portal 2 in Februari!
Indeed it was.
Re: Portal 2 in Februari!
Did coop in about 3hrs. Was easy, almost too easy.
Re: Portal 2 in Februari!
iirc blue shift was the only HL add-on i enjoyed, mainly due to the briefness of the Xen sectionsFoo wrote:Blue Shift was done by Gearbox (who are currently working on DNF). Re: Portal 2 in Februari!
how right you are! the shattered glass was very impressive, most impressive I've seen...they just hit the right values in their thingamabob. and yes this game's rendering capabilities are superior toMKJ wrote:ok, people moaning about lowres textures and the source engine showing its age need to stfu. that entire sp intro sequence with the tilting and swaying apartment and the light refraction through broken glass look more natural and realistic than any game has ever been able to pull off.

pretty much anything I've played recently. Even under motion the textures and effects stay true and sharp as if you were standing still. I don't know if that has to do with the fact that my card was effectively running it at 4634345 fps but Crysis 2 for instance looks like shit under movement...if crysis 2 is doing it on purpose because of some motion blur effect then they are fagots for doing it.
