In the interests of truth and fairness, I simply must raise issue with the reasons given for my forced egress from this fine forum. I never actually "hacked" the forum. In fact, I didn't actually do anything to the forum at all.

There is a story that is somewhat pursuant to this debacle that I shall reiterate now, though I fear its fall being broken by deaf ears. Originally, many years ago, like King of the Nerds, I exposed a large security hole in the forum that allowed access to the password list. I told the Indian chap-whose name I have since forgotten-and he, rightly I may add, demanded that all staff members changed their passwords. All did, except one.

Two years later, some fracas or other kicked off, and I remember wondering if that password still worked. Well, obviously it did, or I wouldn't be posting under this rather sterile alt-nic.

I can't remember what I actually did once inside, I think I deleted the board, but it got me banned for 6 years.

Anyway, the point is that Dave was perfectly happy to accept my apology many years later and promptly unbanned me. I hear there was even some heated words in the admin forum about my return. From what I understand, raw was none-too-chirpy about this possibility, and according to sources, the point was raised that raw hasn't posted since the collapse of the Berlin wall.

My other point is that I'm now old as fuck with a successful career in photography, and, rather arrogantly, it may be viewed, don't understand what all the fuss about. I think we were all different people back then. I remember caring a great deal about this board, more than I would have let on at the time, and when I saw bad things happening, I abused privileges I wasn't entitled to in an effort "fight" back.

At the end of the day though, dude should've changed his password two years earlier when he was told to. The moose guy, I've completely forgotten everyones names here.
