A remastered Day of the Tentacle seems doomed to lie at the bottom of the ocean, despite being "80% done," according to a Kotaku source. A source reportedly "close to the project" told Kotaku that Day of the Tentacle was being remade with updated art and cutscenes, much like when its 90s adventure game sibling The Secret of Monkey Island got the same treatment in 2009.

The The Secret of Monkey Island remake looks shit, it's done in the style of the post Monkey Island 2 games, which Ron Gilbert (who made the first 2) says "don't exist" - he would want a title of Monkey Island 3a for a new Monkey Island game - and I didn't play that Tentacle game so QQ.

Remakes, you are asking for remakes, you like remakes, remakes as lame as that? And you are upset that there isn't another lame remake? QQ ...

Same, fuck it... I guess he just hates remakes. Would say MI remake is more like MI1+2 rather than 3 n all, which looks like was geared towards 2 yr olds.

Going back to that, since you didn't go by my link before, if you are going to compare screenshots you really need to look at the likes of these:

Weak cartoon style characters:

vs photo-realistic oil painting styled characters (not photo-realistic graphics, of course, but a painting style unlike "cartoony").:

Couple more:

Anyone who thinks the remake art is better just cause it's higher colour and resolution is partially blind and knows nothing about art.

Edit: Apologies for double posting while boosting an old topic. Check my post above in case you missed it.

Good thing you can switch back to the original graphics with a single button press.

As for the pictures posted by DTS, that's less than 1% of the game looking like that. Declaring a game crap because you don't like 1% of it is nonsense.

They should just change the name from "Extended Universe" to "Alternate Universe". Problem solved...

yes.
Pretty weak to just discard everything that supposedly happened after ROTJ just so the new peeps have creative carte blanche.
Pretty sure most people would want to see those stories translated to film.

The new sprites look just as bad as those close-up shots, moron.

Cameo appearances, probably?

Can't imagine Han and Luke hobbling around with blasters and lightsabres and Leia fitting inside her slave bikini.
