How did the conversation get onto waxing nostalgic when the thread was about the bots spamming up the forums?

Why is it every time people attempt to have a discussion on improving the forum it always devolves into a "remember the good old days" or "the forum is great for me so fuck all y'all" or "let's all go to a new forum" and then Dave shows up to tell us all to fuck off?
