Haha, the first couple of comments were in honest amazement and i do maintain the opinion that building those shoddy houses in a tornado zone is a bad bad bad idea... for which there seems to be no good reason at all. Corruption? Too much faith in invisible SkyDaddy? Lack of money? Incompetent illegal contractors? God knows, but it's asking for trouble whatever the reason is.

americans simply cannot afford to build better quality houses... partly because the contractor has to probably feed 4 kids , each one having their own xbox and their own car... tuition, adderall prescription etc. ..and the other reason being that wood is just way more abundant in most areas of the state than the alternatives. Also, having cheap-ass houses that are build figuratively over night, keeps the money flow at a nice comfortable rate for the least amount of work...

Not sure if you are aware, but americans pride themselves in making the most amount of money for the least amount of work. Pride on a job well done is rarely a subject matter.


Not to mention that function, trumps form in this culture...but at disgusting levels of apathy towards any 'unnecessary' refinement ..so as long as it does the job they could care less for anything more substantial. Everything in america is build bluntly and with no taste. Something that could easily be seen in the earlier years of american car manufacturing.
