Wow really, sending your army of ninja lawyers against a dude who happened to register that domain 2 years before Microsoft announced what the new console was going to be called?

Just pay the man ffs...

yeah, would be cheaper than legal action...unfortunately , they will easily win and reaffirm that you shouldn't be doing this type of shit.

MS kills game ownership:
  • You do not own the games you buy. You license them.
  • Discs are only used to install and then license games and do not imply ownership.
  • People can play games installed on your console whether you're logged in or not.
  • 10 people can be authorised to play these games on a different Xbox One via the cloud, but not at the same time, similar to iTunes authorised devices.
  • Publishers decide whether you can trade in your games and may charge for this.
  • Publishers decide whether you can give a game you own to someone for free, and this only works if they have been on your friends list for 30 days.
  • Your account allows you to play the games you license on any console.
  • Your Xbox One must connect to the internet every 24 hours to keep playing games.
  • When playing on another Xbox One with your account, this is reduced to one hour.
  • Live TV, Blu-ray and DVD movies are exempt from these internet requirements.
  • Loaning and renting games will not be possible at launch, but Microsoft is "exploring the possibilities".
  • Microsoft may change these policies or discontinue them at any point.
There's one positive point though: turns out you can actually turn off Kinect after all.

This is the most retarded thing ever. The one reason I was going to get a next gen console was so I could take it with me when I work away, instead of lugging my PC and all its related paraphernalia with me. I could just take a console and plug it into a TV or bring my small monitor with me and immerse myself in some nice single player RPG to my hearts content without an internet connection. Looks like I'll be getting a beefy laptop instead. Unless Sony look at everything MS is doing and just do the opposite.

Wow! Those graphics are insane!! Look how realistic those characters look! The lighting is amazing and looks so real!! That's the best animation blending I've ever seen in a video game character!

Oh wait, I'm watching a live-action teevee show. :(

Yay "next gen of gaming" being just another fucking social device for even lazier plebs who don't want more than one remote control while watching dumbed down remakes of Star Trek.

The age of graphic wee contests is long over. Newer engines mean better implementations of the same techniques, there probably won't be a curved surfaces / self shadow / real time lighting leap for a while.
Nowadays it's more about gameplay innovation and artistic style.

And bro shooters. Don't forget bro shooters.

The sad thing is that MS will get away with it. Little Timmy and his rich parents don't know, don't understand and possibly don't even notice these issues. And unfortunately, dumb little Timmy is the bulk of MS' customers.

Edit: little Timmy being empty headed teens who think CoD MW3 is the best thing ever (after FIFA 13). Trine? Bastion? Limbo? Ne'er heard o' it.

Eraser is right, but pretty much the best you can do is vote with your wallet. In the current gen of consoles, I had a PS3 and not an Xbox 360. I haven't played anything on it for a year now. In the next gen, I was prepared to move to the new Xbox, but after all these recent announcements about the new "features", I won't. I'll wait to see how the PS4 pans out, but again probably won't get it right away.

PCs and Steam are still going strong, so there's always that.

Exactly why I'm in the market for a new gaming PC now. I'm actually looking for something powerful yet silent and as small a form factor as possible, so I can stick it next to my TV and hook it up using HDMI. Steam big picture mode is perfect.

the controller seems to be all good tho; addressing the few issues that the 360 had plus adding some new. I'm liking the low-power state.

hopefully you can turn the splitscreen swapping off :)

hey you know what. these new xbox features are regarded as terrible decisions ( I agree), but it ain't all bad. that is to say, yes there is drm but it doesnt restrict you from playing your game at a friends house, for instance;
After signing in and installing, you can play any of your games from any Xbox One because a digital copy of your game is stored on your console and in the cloud. So, for example, while you are logged in at your friend’s house, you can play your games.
in addition:
Xbox One will enable new forms of access for families. Up to ten members of your family can log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One. You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time.
actually pretty cool. actually transferring license or ownership of a physical copy is a pain still, although without fee (contrary to previous reports). But if my friends can play my games there really is no need to lend them my copy.

so yea.. same old.. two sides of the coin.

yes I wonder how they'll handle replacement consoles.
prolly the same way Apple did it, by unauthorizing devices based on serialnumber, and a limit of how often you can do this.

then again, you can play your games on any console as long as it's your account using it. so a replacement is simply a matter of signing in and yoink, all your shit is available again.

looks like MS is going for a paradigm shift, and as always you will leave a few people behind.
