Flown in an Airbus 380 once though, that sure was something else. That thing is a glorious achievement of design and technology, had me absolutely gobsmacked. If a regular plane is like a bus, the A380 is a limousine. I mean, i didn't even really feel or hear the takeoff and landing... and it's the only time i ever sat comfortable in a plane. Very impressive
i haven't ever been on an airbus 380 but from what you describe i would very much like it.
the 777 is a beautiful plane for sure, big and beautiful
it is about time!

Don't need to get in a plane for that. I just ring my neighbor's doorbell.Ryoki wrote:Transient wrote:I've only ever flown in a plane twicereally..? Don't you ever feel the need to travel to somewhere really far away where people look and talk radically different than what you're used to?

SourceChinese satellite images have detected a large object in the southern Indian Ocean that could be part of missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
If there was any wreckage it has to sink or get broken down further soon you'd think.
Remember the Fukushima debris in the Pacific Ocean.

Specialized locater en route
Also Monday, the U.S. Pacific Command said it is sending a specialized locator to assist in the recovery of the vital "black box" flight recorder in the hope a debris field is located.
The locator device is capable of receiving the black box transmitter signals to a depth of 6,100 meters.

Isn't the airline owned by the Maylasian government? lol, they have no proof the plane is in the Indian Ocean. They just want this whole thing to go away...

They think they found out where it is but we've heard that before =/. The search continues.
Oh yea and they're treating the families like shit, still, because Malaysia airlines are a bunch of clueless monkeys

Brit company Immarsat used the doppler effect to determine 2 possible corridors of the last 'pings' from the plane, in recent days they think they've narrowed this down to a spot far off the coast of Australia in the middle of nowhere.xer0s wrote:Isn't the airline owned by the Maylasian government? lol, they have no proof the plane is in the Indian Ocean. You also need to remember that when something like this happens lots of countries are involved in the investigation. Boeing for example will have their own team to protect their interests, being an American company the NTSB ? will also have their team, cos that's the rules. Rolls Royce will have their team, being a Brit company etc. Have already mentioned Immarsat and there's plenty more.
Other countries like China, Vietnam, Australia or any other country affected by this will also have their own teams working on this and hiding any information will be hard. Malaysia airlines were just completely unprepared for this, to the point that they are meant to be leading the investigation only to be informed by the American media that the plane was sending pings hours after it was lost. If they wanted to cover this up they would've told the yanks to STFU, being the investigation leaders, they genuinely had no idea.

Re: so this missing plane thing
I'm wondering, why is this black box not equipped to float on water and broadcast its location to a sattelite (hell, why isn't black box data streamed to a remote storage in real time?
Re: so this missing plane thing
Because airlines are cheap. They're more concerned about making a buck than situations like this.
Re: so this missing plane thing
It'll be expensive bandwidth and it needs to survive fire, crashes n all that shite and having it float is prolly bottom of the list, considering it should still be attached to the plane when it goes down, it doesn't eject.Eraser wrote:I'm wondering, why is this black box not equipped to float on water and broadcast its location to a sattelite (hell, why isn't black box data streamed to a remote storage in real time?
They do need updating though, the flight recorder only records the last 2 hrs of convo for example, so in this kind of situation... along with Helios airways flight I mentioned a page back, it'll be completely useless.

Airline companies run on a minimum, so if someone took up the feature and passed on the expense to the consumer the company would go bust.Captain Mazda wrote:Because airlines are cheap. They're more concerned about making a buck than situations like this.

Re: so this missing plane thing
the black box should be enclosed in a nuclear flask (smaller version) like they tested in 1984Eraser wrote:I'm wondering, why is this black box not equipped to float on water and broadcast its location to a sattelite (hell, why isn't black box data streamed to a remote storage in real time?
