That's not you.
That's Bruce Springsteen.

Re: Self-portrait thread
I have a friend who owns a micro-light who was kind enough to offer me a flight a couple of months ago.

I was quite suprised, I thought the ride was going to be a lot rougher but turned out to be quite pleasant, I didn't feel like barfing once.

This is the M1 from about 1500 feet.

At one point he took the plane up to about 6000 feet to try get above the cloud layer, this was the scariest part of the trip.

This is a view down from 6000 feet. When you have around you is perspex and aluminium tubing your hands start to sweat and your throat goes dry.

Here is the plane itself, like I fucken needed to explain that. The definition of a micro-light is that it has to be under 450 kilograms. I flew it myself for about an hour over Warwickshire and Derbyshire and we were up for about three hours. An experience I won't forget in a hurry.

Re: Self-portrait thread
fantastic, never seen one of those up close and personal--was the ride fairly smooth? can they only be taken out (similarly to an ultra-) only on non-windy days?
Re: Self-portrait thread
it's the one part of flying i never get bored of and always look forward to.mancubus wrote:jellus?Doombrain wrote:wow, the M1.

It's sorta like women sneezing can cause orgasms...I spunk my pants everytime I laugh.
Re: Self-portrait thread
It was a lot smoother than I thought it would be, he did say that hot days were the worse as the thermals are a lot stronger so you end up either dropping or lifting by about 100 feet without warning. It was suprisingly easy to fly but I wouldn't want to try a landing or take-off without a lot more training.Underpants? wrote:fantastic, never seen one of those up close and personal--was the ride fairly smooth? can they only be taken out (similarly to an ultra-) only on non-windy days?
I am not sure what the limit would be to fly it but you sure as fuck wouldn't take it out on a fairly gusty day as it only weighs about 450 kilos.
