Restored player data. See if that reverts spawn.

just discovered another glitch: if your 1.7.3 install was set to peaceful when you updated to 1.8, any SP survival map you start (or play if it was begun in an earlier version) in 1.8 will also be peaceful: no hostiles, and your food bar doesn't go down either

at least the map i started was boring with no iron anywhere to be found, so nothing of value was lost

Okay, I spawned in the wooden starting thing, still in survival mode. But I managed to punch my way out of it and into the world. Definitely in survival mode here.

Not complaining though, at least I'm not trapped in the start area as I was yesterday.

Logs say you first logged in on the 28th, when it was still survival. Once set it can't be changed unless your data is deleted. I've deleted everyone's data to force creative.

you know, it doesn't look like maps created in 1.8 are going to be buggered by the 'official' 1.9 release when it comes, so why not just start a new survival map? (and if you do, use your godlike powers of admin to lay down a obsidian platform in the spawn area so it doesn't end up looking like the western front full of creeper explosion craters ppl can't get out of like the last survival map we played...)

i'm getting the strong impression from this thread that everyone's had enough of creative (and the current map)

I have no record of you logging in since I purged user data (3 hours ago). It should work now when you log in again.

Second beta of 1.8 is supposed to be out very shortly. We could do a new survival map when that comes out if you and silicone want to (since it's mainly you guys that have put most work in to this map).

Btw... here's an archive of all the maps...

checked it out, accidentally broke a few doors, on purpose killed a few skeletons

where are the cave spiders and webs and shit that are supposed to infest these places? or is that abandoned mines?

Sorry, my confusion. It's probably 1.9 I'm thinking of. Whatever update notch said was going to be the last big one between now and release. You probably know better.

Those archives are all different maps. The date is when they were last in use.

12-15-2010: September last year til December: Original q3w map
05-01-2011: January til May: Survival map that ran bukkit
06-27-2011: May to June: Survival map that ran vanilla, not much done here
09-01-2011: June to September: btw cocks
09-30-2011: current map

haven't seen any silverfish yet. they will suck balls in survival: too fast and small to kill easily with server lag

FYI there's also an epic ravine/abandoned mine complex at the bottom of the shaft under one of my castle towers (the one with all the chests and furnaces in)

Awwrite, I made a minecart expressway out to 'fkd outpost' from the city.

I hope you guys appreciate the amount of autism I put into that.

Autistic behavior of any spectrum is welcome and encouraged here.

Monsters should be disabled now; although I occasionally ran across one on the overworld.

The minecraft wiki is hilarious. There's some valuable stuff in there but it's surrounded by paragraph after paragraph of WHY ARE YOU WRITING ALL THAT.

Aspipedia.

So if you want to use the railways, just spawn a minecart on the slope, get in, then press the button.

Image

You can nudge the minecart onto the slope from behind it. If it gets stuck in a wall (occasionally at stations), just kinda run at it from the other side, and it'll pop back out.
