Wolverine - 7/10
I liked it, but I haven't read the original story. It was an entertaining action movie, but nowhere as good as X-MEN First Class.

The Colony = 5/10 - A low-budget thriller (of sorts) that isn't very thrilling or entertaining really. Some really bad acting from some actors who I know have done better....probably just there for the paycheque. Best finishing move on "the bad guy" in a while.
Watch it if you're bored and have nothing else.

Re: The last movie you saw
I was actually thinking of seeing Wolverine simply because it tells the story of his Japanese history/connections...which was probably the single greatest comic short series in history. However, I have a feeling it's not even about that and simply set in Japan...done on purpose so that morons like me who read the comic will blindly flock in to watch...so I'll probably skip it. And since you said it wasn't as good as X-Men First Class - which was not just fucking horrible, but cynically fucking horrible - I'll probably be happy I didn't see it.ToxicBug wrote:Wolverine - 7/10

Re: The last movie you saw
I went to see Wolverine with a friend who read the original comic, he didn't like the movie because they changed the story too much. I think you're doing the right thing. I have SCENE, so all my movies are free. I would probably think twice before seeing it otherwise.GONNAFISTYA wrote:I was actually thinking of seeing Wolverine simply because it tells the story of his Japanese history/connections...which was probably the single greatest comic short series in history. Re: The last movie you saw
Wolverine Origins and Xmen First Class were SO FUCKING BAD that I'm skipping it, too. I just don't trust them enough to see it in the theater.
Re: The last movie you saw
Xmen First Class had Michael Fassbender in it, so it's worth watching just for him because he's so incredibly hot.
Thick, solid and tight in all the right places.
Re: The last movie you saw
Michael Fassbender, more like Michael Assbender amirite?
Re: The last movie you saw
Watched Oblivion (2013) tonight, liked it a lot despite it's independence-day flaws
I love quake!

The Conjuring - 7.5/10
I liked it a lot, it was really scary. The plot didn't resolve a major piece of the movie, though, which I found really disappointing.

Red
Released in 2010 and a classic Bruce Willis movie.
Top marks for the accompanying actors Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich & Karl Urban. Great job.
Loved every moment - 8/10
I see there is a Red 2 in the tube

Re: The last movie you saw
by 'in the tube' you mean 'in the cinemas', right?
Re: The last movie you saw
The Man with the Iron Fists: wow, what an astonishing piece of shit. i knew it wouldn't be good, but it was really shockingly bad. made it about 20min in before i turned it off. contemplating the badness of this movie is like contemplating the concept of very large numbers. you know a trillion is big, but it's really hard to visualize. so yeah. this movie is worse than you can probably imagine a film could be (unless you watched human centipede, which i haven't).

This, I don't understand.menkent wrote:made it about 20min in before i turned it off.
I skip a lot of movies because I know they are shit.
Like I'm not going to read 50 shades of Grey, because I know it is shit.
You say you knew it was going to be shit. And it indeed turned out to be shit.
So why don't you just avoid shit?
Sheeeiiit.
Re: The last movie you saw
no, i thought it would be a silly kung fu movie... like Iron Monkey or maybe a not-as-good Kill Bill. what i got wasn't even a B-movie. also, it was late, i was bored, and it was free.
Re: The last movie you saw
No. Tube was supposed to mean pipeline, in the making.MKJ wrote:by 'in the tube' you mean 'in the cinemas', right?
I do see the confusion re the use of tube these days

Re: The last movie you saw
There is no confusion, what I meant was that it's already out of the pipeline and in the cinemas.

Re: The last movie you saw
The Conjuring = 8/10 - Easily the best horror film to come out in a while, mostly because it's proper horror and not that retarded Evil Dead Remake#1 chainsaw-to-the-face-of-some-runofthemill-demon-who-bleeds-fifty-litres-of-blood dreck.
A very good movie and certainly stands out in the genre.
