He is one of my favorites and I don't need anyone else to like it to validate my own taste. There are plenty of euro producers who came before and after Skrillex with even more disgusting basslines. The main thing I see different with him is he gives more of an upbeat dance/house vibe.

Been playing the piss out of the new stuff from Eptic and Calvertron lately.
I am not having a dig and to be honest some of his stuff ain't too bad but some of the people he has "dub'd" have been an utter disgrace. Jumping on the band wagon big time. I never thought i would come across as sounding like a prick about music and "they sold out" kind of thing but the earlier London/Bristol dubstep is much nicer

Some original UK dubstep, that doesn't resort to "this is filthier than x" style youtube commenter faggotry and actually has dub elements, rather than a bunch of chainsaw midrange lfo shite, making your ears bleed in every direction:

And if you simply must have the "filthiest" bassline ever, then you simply won't beat this.

Go to FWD in London, listen to any of these on their insane soundsystem and bring a new pair of pants. Fuck Skrillex and fuck brostep.

It's when dubstep started getting ridiculous and turned into a self-parody of wobbles and trying to "out-filth" one another. Then Skrillex came and took the crown.

Actually, this took the crown and shat all over it :olo:

Not a big dubstep fan at all myself. Dubstep-inspired music is getting more mainstream airplay though.

This David Guetta track for example:

I really, really hate what happens when that chorus thing sets in. It just sounds horrible and completely takes the pace out of the song (not that the rest of the song is so great, but it's an easy poppy listen). I'm not making a complaint against dubstep here though, but annoying noise like this track is getting more common and I think he's doing this crap because of dubstep becoming more popular.

Oh and what do you think of stuff like this Alex Clare track?

Also something played on mainstream radio and definitely dubstep inspired. I like the song but I imagine the true dubstep fans absolutely hate it :)

16bit is fucking filthy. But I like it. Caspa is probably as close to pure dubstep as I'll go.

Bar9 is another good example of out filthing UK. One of my favorites when I first got into dubstep.

Yeah I used to make full music packs for the old PC NHL games, had about 100,000 downloads for that pack alone. That little clip alone features better music than this entire page, thanks
