Over a month ago Jeb said there would be no release before Minecon.

I don't see a fix out for server key message. But just keep on attempting to log in and you'll eventually get in.

Server will go survival with new map sometime early next week. Gonna finish up my pyramid and sermeu has his church.

When you've made a 'final' backup of the map, let us know so we can TNT rampage the fuck out of it before we go survival.

Tempted to even play the post-TNT map as survival. Or import it to a random area of the new map. That would be amazing.

that would be kind of amusing, and your minecart tracks would come in handy

What's left of them >:D

It's an interesting thought though, as long as the objective beforehand was to blow almost everything up. Some stuff would get rebuilt, other stuff wouldn't be worth it. Would we end up moving out of the central area in search of resources, or stick around...

Think Food means that once the TNT extravaganza is over most of the minecart tracks would be destroyed too.

I like the idea of merging the map into a new one.

what a piece of shit this has turned into,

i cant play longer then 68 seconds before i get lock ups, then it eats all 8 cores of my CPU and locks up... restarting only get me the invalid server key...

I'm going to doodle a terrible drawing on the wall and look at it simulating that I'm actually playing the game.

I'm sorry your having problems but it's not happening for everyone. Are you running 64-bit java?

i'm now getting the invalid server key + communication error when retrying. that part's definitely fuXX0red

also, all the sea in my SSP map iced up before my eyes, and the sun now appears to rise in the south :tard: Sphax's PureBD text pack looks pretty neat though

that ice on the right wasn't there before. about 15 minutes later, it extended all the way to the floating house. wtf Notch?

@ Amidy: that does sound like a java problem. you need to install the version that matches your OS, i.e. 64-bit for Win7 64.

Whelp, I started a hardcore game and got several hours into it before I was killed when my tamed dog teleported in front of my boat.

Yep.

I made the final backup of the world. No more map updates. Feel free to TNT anything as much as you want. Will start new map on survival tomorrow.

All old maps can be downloaded here:

holy crap, d00d. that's a fuckload of work. shame Notch's weird fog implementation fucks up the ground view

p.s. don't forget to creeper-proof the spawn area in new SMP map

Lol that big ol wooden spawn is on fire.

I'm thinking that once some mods have updated, it'd be great to remove creeper blast damage, and add something to protect chests.

also: airships (maybe even the technic pack? buildcraft? industrialcraft? - hours of complicated machine fun)

TBH I'm happy with whatever mj puts up, since it'll be one of the few SMP servers not infested with 8 year olds and admins that spawn 1000 diamonds on request.
