Wind Talkers 4/10

An absurd amount of warmovie cliches fly at the viewer in this one. On the bright side, it's what kept me watching (i bet this is gonna happen - oh look it did)

repo man 8/10

it's been awhile since i last saw this flick. total cult classic with a great sundtrack and lots of laughs including some smart satire which is tempered by it's rough technical edges and slightly uneven acting.

bonus: look for the bald punk criminal "lets do some crimes" he's a dead ringer for zark.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou: 6.5/10. Just enough goofy charm to make it entertaining.

Amityville Horror. 4/10 More gross than frightening. They had the setup for something creepy and they just blew it. Predictable, too. I don't talk during movies, but I couldn't help calling out what was going to happen next.

Goblet of Fire. 7/10 Better than the others, but lacked some parts that probably would've made it better. The theater I saw it in had a problem with one of the bulbs in the projector, so the whole movie was twice as dark as normal. I sat through it anyway.

best part of the movie is when Bette Midler dies. Early on, which makes it better. Neve Campbell and Casey Affleck play mediocre whiney shitbag roles, very well suited. None other than Will Fucking Ferrell not only steals scense but actually sets the comic pace. The cheating husband is played by one of the below and lets go of words which should be etched in the marble of poet's history:
Devito: "life hand you potatoes Mona, you got to make potato salad."
Midler "well life handed me a big pile of shit, Norm, what am I supposed to make of that, huh?"
Husband (new york accent): "Shit salad?"
Also, "Don't kiss the dawg's ass."
Peter Dobson William Fichtner Raymond O'Connor Tracey Walter

Amores Perros (or 'Life's a Bitch' as the subbers decided to dub it).

Great drama.

Runs for two and a half hours but doesn't let up for a minute.

What is with people's obsession with Tim Burton? I think he's an overrated hack.

*shrugs* he knows cinematography.

intolerable cruelty is not one of Coen's's's best works IMO. its okish but the plot doesnt do much for me. Ladykillers is funnier :icon14:
