Decided to have a ~2/5th life crisis and be the boy-racer I never was. Bought a rather nice ultra-rare Clio 182 off a friend. There were only 525 of these Trophy editions made, with 500 in the UK and are regarded as one of the best ever hot hatches as the first 30 seconds of this video confirms .

If I suddenly stop posting here I've probably wrapped it around a tree.

Re: What is new in your little world?

PM yesterday a group of my classmates met up for a few drinks and a feed and our 42nd 'gathering'. I am not calling them 'reunions' as that seems to imply a party, balloons and getting dressed up, speeches and stuff.

The next 'reunion' is planned for our 45th year, then I suppose our 50th

I'm assured the F4R is one of the most reliable Renault engines.. we shall see!

My mate owned it for the past five years and I'm not aware of any major issues anyway.

I have some relatives staying over soon and they're from England.
We have made some plans and we're so looking forward to the catch up over the next few days.
No doubt, lots of food and drink added to the good company, it will be nice :)

I smashed a 172 cup around Spa a few years ago. Wonderful little car and one of the best days of my life

Haha awesome. I live 20 miles from Donnington Park, might have to get a track day booked :D.

HR informed me today that I've been with the company for exactly five years. I'm getting a third week of vacation (two weeks per year is the legal minimum) effective immediately and this watch (the other choices were Citizen AT4110-55E and Tissot T055.471.11.057.00).

Feels kinda weird considering I'm only 28. Oh well, I like what I do there.

Nice watch ToxicBug

As to employment leave entitlements over my working years, I have always enjoyed 4 weeks annual leave and 17.5% leave loading on the 9 to 5 jobs and while on the 24 hour shift work I got 5 weeks per year and 20% leave loading. Seems I was and am still a lucky bastard :D

The company I work for gives us one extra day for five years of employment, lol.

We do get 28 days statutory holiday here though if you work full-time.

I forgot to mention, on top of the above we score 10 individual 'public' holidays throughout the year :D

It was so nice to catch up. Yes, a little too much food and wine of course.

We took them on a scenic (tourist) canal cruise stopping off for lunch at the tavern. After a great feed we returned on the same cruise boat. Yesterday off to the local markets, not quite local being 40 minutes away. Nice :D

The sun burning down bought a colour to their fair skins

They're off home soon. We will see them as they board their aircraft home at 1am in a couple of days.

Looks like I actually get 35 days holiday, not that I get chance to use them mind.

The 32mpg I've been getting the past week means I might not be able to afford to drive it there :clownboat:.

You have 7 weeks off plus statutory holidays? How come you can't use them?

That's 35 in total.

There never seems to be a good time to take them due to various projects we have on - I end up using them all up towards the end of the financial year when my manager forces me to (he keeps telling me throughout the year to take some days off..). I do always use up all my holiday days.

Given the choice I'd probably prefer to work the holiday days and be paid instead but we can't do that .

I've worn out my drive chain, so bought this!

Wearing out drive chain takes some effort  You must do hours on that bike.

Me, I stripped down my old PC and gave it a clean of sorts. I reinstalled* all the 5 HDDs tidying cables as I did. I had to read up on the old DOS commands for unconditional formatting to erase all personal data. Lastly I installed W10 and now ready to sell it on.

* I removed the 2 SSDs for the new one.
