Godzilla
If you like nonstop skyscraper-flattening action, it's pfg.

How could you go in with any other expectations.
Just hope it's a little grittier (a la Cloverfield) than the Emmerich one, which was a bit Disney.

I was expecting it to be a nothing but a US military propaganda shitfest with a giant lizard thrown in, like Battle LA or Transfuckers.

The Day the Earth Stood Still - 3/10
A tour de force of Keanu Reeves' facial expressions - all one of them - as he fronts enough apocalypse porn to make every misanthrope in the world fap themselves into a coma

That's a very cynical view you're taking there, m8.

Short Term 12
The plot is sometimes lacking a clear direction, but the apt pacing, charming characters, and fly on the wall cinematography make this a very enjoyable experience.
8/10

Headhunters 8/10
Norwegian crime-thriller starring Jaime Lannister and a Norwegian Steve Buscemi. Very well done.

Close Encounters is an 8/10 at best. It's a classic, but not a 10 IMO. Mmm... mashed potatoes.

Unforgiven (Japanese remake): 8.5/10
Stays true to the original story with a Samurai twist that doesn't feel out of place. The original is one of my favourite Westerns with how it portrays a world without true heroes or villains, just shades of grey.
A Clockwork Orange: 9/10
Hadn't seen it until now but I've read the book. Depressing as shit really.

1977
I checked out a few articles as I thought there was shaving cream there somewhere in the sculpting process and there was, but, just to say I was surprised at how old (flame me if you care) the movie was.
I went looking for a little history if you like and found
this of some interest.

what prevents it from being a 10/10 in your humble opinion?

Just saw X-men: Days of Future past. It was good, really really good. The production values were way higher than First Class, and the story is good and makes you invested. The terminator-like sentinels in the future are a highlight near the end.
9/10 easy
Also, next X-men movie is about Apocalypse. Sweet.
