Bezier curves in Q3 are smoothed, foo.

(Wait, how the fuck do you handle texturing curved shit in hl2 then?)

Back to the picture: those planks look a lot better than the logs you had there before.

But what are the black lines at the top? At first I thought they were wires, but the 90 degree angle would be weird...and having poles up there doesn't make much sense to me

Probably some kind of track.

Yeah, I was thinking that too since it looks like it's connected to something off in the background, but the 90 degree angle still looks weird to me. Unless there's a reason why you need that corner (i.e. it stops there for a second and you can jump on it from somewhere on the map - like that mountain?), I think it would look better if it wasn't so sharp. More of a gradual movement.

id's beziers make circular stuff not-so-circular-and-yucky ! Besides, cut Fjoggs some slack - he still maps for Q1 ;)

I like your screenies, but imo the rock normals get hit with a slightly too hard angle by the lights.

they were placed there by the same aliens who put the tugboats in the lake above the dam in HL2 :icon14:

How's that coming along, then?
ETA, yet?

I recently reinstalled HL2 to play through it again, but would also like to check out some custom content.

Shots look decent, never mind all the 'suspension of disbelief'.
(Although gameplay better make up for it :icon25: )

funny thing about 'suspension of disbelief' - if you examine HL2 itself it's filled with implausible configurations of objects and unlikely scenarios. the tugs above the dam are just one of the more blatant examples

ETA is: done when it's done. i'm planning to do an 'aftermath' and release it in stages. i'm at 90% of map 2, and there'll be 5 maps in the initial part

SP mapping is so slooooowww

And I've never seen any custom maps for TA before. Does anybody even play it anymore? =( I wish somebody would play online once in a while...
