King Kong, again.
Great film, even if some of the compositing effects are dreadful. Kong looks incredible though. Forget what the doubters on here say, it's excellent.

I saw Narnia on the weekend. I was baked right out of my bloody skull, so all I can say for sure is that Tilda Swinton was born for this role -- although she was also pretty good as Archangel Gabriel in Constantine.

King Kong 9/10: best SFX I have ever seen, and very good mix of actino and emotion. 1 point deduction because next to me 3 complete and utter morons kept babbling throughout the movie making stupid comments and just generally annoying the shit out of me.
I'm going to see it again at a quiet time and then it will, perhaps get a 10.

Why didn't you just say something to them? Telling people off in movies is one of my favorite things to do and more often than not results in a great deal of appreciation from people around you.

Yeah I would have done that, were it not for the fact that guys like that have a reputation of putting a knife between your ribs if they don't like what you say. Not to start on any racial slur or something, but they were of the typical Morrocan kind and, as several Dutchies here can probably attest, it's not wise to mess with guys like that in The Hague :icon26:

Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood
I give it a 5/10.
It had it's funny parts, but the fact that the entire movie was a parody of Boyz n the Hood was incredibly lame.

Oh my god where do I begin with this facist piece of shit?
Maybe I'll start with the opening text the movie provides to set the "background" of why Americans would spend billions of dollars to develop these aircraft so they can drop bombs on a few fanatics in a cave. Things like "to fight the escalating threat of terrorism" I guess are to tell the audience that - in the near future - a single grenade won't be sufficient.
Then of course there's the requisite slo-mo shot of the heroes walking on the deck of the aircraft carrier. I honestly lolled at that shot. After watching it I became convinced that - if it was possible - Karl Rove would have requested that God slow down time while Bush was walking on the aircraft carrier.
Plus all the shots of the planes on the aircraft carrier - with the brooding music - reminded me of "The Empire" in the Star Wars movies....all there to ellicit fear and respect of what's on-screen....in this case...American military might.
I've seriously been laughing hard at several ridiculous points in the movie that I'm positive the director didn't intend for me to laugh. This movie is that shitty.
The planes were cool. That's the only good thing.

I think you just don't like movies. Every one you've mentioned in this thread got a bad rating by you. Either that, or you just pick sucky movies to watch. :icon32:

Actually I'm a huge movie fan (huge...get it...with the popcorn?) but the last few movies I've watched were typical hollywood trash thrown out to the public in hopes that a few movies out of the 1200 made that year make money.
Also...the movies I've been watching lately are the ones I intentionally didn't see earlier cause I knew they'd be shit. I'm watching them now for a laugh.
