guess u don't pay attention...theres no way to know so both reglious nutballs and atheists r equally gay...dzjepp wrote:so how do you know this non-religious god exists idiot? do you have it written down on your wrist or something?Freakaloin wrote:neither...ur the moron and just can't see it...the religious god isn't part of the god debate...thats just bs superstition...we r talking about a god...not a fairytale...
i'm just saying the religious god doesn't even qualify for this discussion...unless ur gonna throw in walking under ladders and haitian voodoo doctors into it...
a defining attribute of a government is that it has a monopoly on the legitimate exercise of violence...
I don't see how me not believing in any sort of god or whatever is a cowardly avoidance. I just believe we are here, we die, that's it. So what you guys are saying is that the only right opinion to have is not have one at all and if I don't follow that, then I'm just wrong?Pext wrote:geoff is right. agnosticism or certain, quasi-agnostic notions of unitarianism are the only ways to settle the problem. everything else is superstition, fairytales and cowardly avoidance of a personal causa sui.

Too right. We see things as they are, we don't need magic or sky daddys to make sure we don't curl up fetal everytime we think about our own death.scourge34 wrote:I don't see how me not believing in any sort of god or whatever is a cowardly avoidance. We're stronger people as a result and our works thanks to the rules of rationality and research rather than wizards and floods.

You're right about that. "scared?" and "moron" etc, is hardly a discussion.Freakaloin wrote:there is no discussion...were talking about god...not superstitions...u can go have the lower brow debates if u like over at myspace...or whever u go...scourge34 wrote:Reduced to post editing.
