After all of the years here, you actually think that I don't know this board's general opinion on guns?
Notice TnF's 1st post in this thread (third post in) and my response. But everyone still wanted to jump on the band wagon, so I played along. It's not my fault everyone loves to bash. However, it is fun to see people get all worked up over the internet.
.
I wasn't drug into anything because my argument was never against owning a gun. People who go on about how safe one makes their home intrigue me, so I figured I'd ask someone who claimed to believe that and maybe even have an intelligent conversation wherein we discuss our points of view in the absence of the debate on gun ownership in the first place. If that's the sort of stuff you troll with, good on you.
Was xer0s drug in since he agreed with your initial 'troll'?
He's had 2 chances to use one (violently even - which I guess means he was in imminent danger?) in self defense of a home but he took care of business without it. I'd like to hear about those and how you resolved them.
Also, pics of xer0s standing next to his AR-50 or it didn't happen (I want to see what that thing looks like standing up next to a person).
tnf, I love how you're almost like a journalist when you have an obvious opinion on something, but you only make it apparent through the questions you ask. I'm not mocking, I just think it's funny.
And sorry, no pics. I'm not going to post pics of me next to my guns. You can believe me if you want. But I have no reason to lie. Especially about something I know most of you don't agree with me about...

I'm kind of glad that you don't own a gun. You'd most likely end up hurting many people, including yourself.
If a redneck retard like you can manage to own one for longer than 24 hours without blowing his bald head off, I should be ok.

xer0s, I have an opinion on guns for home safety (I don't think it makes one as safe as many of the gun owners I know who bought their gun FOR THAT REASON think it does). I made it pretty clear with my post, and then asked for feedback from people who disagreed with it or could offer additional perspectives. I didn't receive any.
I've posted my opinion regarding gun ownership in the past and made it clear that I am not against it. Competitive shooting, collecting unique and antique guns, etc....I don't care. Knock yourself out.
So, yea, no attempt at journalistic trickery here.
You should, though, join everyone else who got drug into it in being frustrated with gramps for getting you into this whole discussion about home safety in a dishonest manner.

No, you really wouldn't. You're clearly a moron without the capacity for simple logic. You're linear train of thought and inabilty to make objective decisions would clearly spell your demise and the death of many others.
Game over. Thanks for playing.

Ehhh.. I was originally going for something else in that second sentence, but failed to correct it before I hit reply.
Yes I do know the difference.
You're = Contraction of you and are.
Your = Of or pertaining to you or yourself.

Around here, it always does.
It seems that many of the users here suffer from A.D.D. and veer off topic when they loose focus.

Yes, I really would. You're obviously a simpleton without the ability to comprehend even the most unsophisticated rationale.
Your overwhelmingly stereotypical, lower class, redneck mentality and incapacity to construct an independent conclusion has doomed you to an existence of mediocrity and failure.
Comb-over. Thanks for playing.

I was getting a bigger chuckle at how loose your typical Mossy 500 action is. The forestock can rattle a fair bit from side to side. Does yours Gramps?
The model with the ghost ring sites standard caught my eye, but the cheap feel of the action and the fact that parkerized finishes would rust in a second in some of the environments I go to kept me away.

Nah, it's ok as long as the alcohol is properly licensed and kept in a secure cabinet away from kids
If Gwamps turned to alcohol instead of guns to express his insecurity, though, he'd still have no functioning testicles but at least he'd have a full head of hair

TNF....Do you have a problem with someone owning guns to defend their home? What city/country are you from out of curiosity?
Gramps....btw nice gun. I just this afternoon picked up a new 2008 Rem 870 tactical with the KNOX stock grip.
Xer0s....Nice looking .50 cal. I'm saving up currently for either the barrett 50 BMG or the steyr 50 bmg.
Currently my collection of firearms for daily carry or homedefense is: S&W M&P 15T AR-15 with all flat dark earth Magpul furniture and the Eotech 512.A65 sight. I keep 25 30 round mags filled at all times in the safe just in case SHTF. Then I have 3 Steyr's the (2) M40-A1 the (1) M9-A1, the .40 is my daily carry. Also there are (2) Springfield XD's one in .357 sig and one in .45 both 4 inch service models. And then of course the Remy 870 I bought today.
I'm going to pick up another Steyr M40-A1 tommorow, along with 6 12 round mags and a few more boxes of some Speer Gold Dot's 180gr.

A guy walks into his doctor's office. His doctor looks him up and down and says gruffly "Wow, you're gonna get laid tonight!" The man replies, "Hehe, how do you know?" The doctor replies, "Because I'm stronger than you."

Yeah, the action does seem a bit sloppy. Though I haven't shot it yet, it does seem to function properly (loading/unloading). I'm not really worried about rust since I keep it in a dry, air conditioned place.
