See...the crux of your retardation is that you're demanding "independently verified DNA" - which I'm assuming means verified by anyone other than the US government - but even if you were to get "independently verified DNA" from all the different governments in the world, you'd stick to your fantasy (as all conspiracy theorists do) and claim that they were all a big collusion between the governments to appease Obama and his secret Kenyan/Muslim/Christian/Hawaiian conspiracy to take over the world...or sumthin. And even if you eventually accepted the "independently verified DNA" (which you never will) you'd simply change gears and demand something else as proof.

You can really start with just wikipedia for that kind of info.
I've seen conflicting reports where it was al-qaeda which is loosely translated as "The Base" that the Mujahideen called the training compound where the US was setting them up to fight the Soviets in the 80s. I've also heard that is was simply the name for "The Database" that the CIA had on the members they were training, making al-Qaeda literally a file on some gov't dude's computer.
They took that an ran with it eventually, after falling out with the US over the US bases in Saudi Arabia during the first gulf war and running the Soviets out.
That's just the intro. I think what geoff was saying is that al-qaeda is nowhere near the organization or members our gov't and media have made them out to be, but with the shit he spouts who knows?

It doesn't matter if he was armed or not. This is a man that has repeatedly said he will kill as many Americans or westerners as he can. He had to have been considered a constant threat, armed or not. The SEALS anticipated that he might be wearing some type of vest rigged to explode the compound. He had to be treated as a threat no matter what...
