They're not really overpriced, there was a comparison somewhere between a 15 inch Dell laptop and Powerbook. Once you got the Dell specced up (they're brilliant with their low-priced can't-fucking-do-anything PCs/laptops) and the software right it was even more expensive than the powerbook.brisk wrote:I was gonna buy a powerbook a few months back, but I decided against it when you consider the specs compared to their PC equivalent. They updated the specs recently though, which is a good move. But you can still get the highest spec iBook which is less than the 12" powerbook, and almost as powerful.
I'm gonna buy the Sony VAIO A417M when it becomes available mid-may. I'm looking for a straight desktop replacement which will handle all the creative apps with ease, and the screen on that model is one of the best available. It also looks pretty purty
The small Sony Vaios are great but they're even more expensive.
