I dunno, its not real coop as such...
Well, they said that the coop missions were telling stories that are mentioned in the game, so I expect there is some back story to these missions. And the comparison to Horde seems a bit odd. They're clearly fighting their way through a path from point A to reach point B. Horde is basically just an arena game type.
o'dium wrote:Also, what dumb fucking spick thought it would be a good idea to double information on BOTH screens thats EXACTLY the same...? Thats just piss poor UI design.
I assumed this was showing off split-screen coop as well, but now that I think about it, it probably doesn't. You see, they're showing the PC version, and I doubt there will be split-screen coop on the PC version (well, maybe there is, if they let you plug in XBox 360 controllers and play with that), but I think the split-screen effect here is just a video editing trick, to show that yes, they're actually in the same world at the same time. With widescreen monitors and TV's of these days, I'd also expect they'd have a vertical screen split instead of horizontal. At least, that's what Portal does and it seems to make a lot more sense.

They already confirmed no split screen on PC didn't they?

Plus you can tell thats console play, look at the quality drop, its much worse, the bodies disapear as soon as they leave the view, the pop in is delayed more etc... Obviously they dropped the settings for split screen play on consoles to keep it smooth enough.

I think it's the PC version they're showing because of the the on-screen hand-cursor that has an "E" in there.

And id Software probably doesn't do that either. Like I said, the "split screen" you see in the video is probably a video editing trick to get two views in the same video at the same time, where they simply captured two full screenv videos from the two players and then cut and edited that into the same video.

And got those two players to run the game at insane widescreen resolution...? I can't see that, really... Much easier to hook up an 360 and take a direct feed, theres no messing about then.

Maybe the PC version does have split screen?

maybe they were running a build for the xbox where they'd simply forgotten to change E for a symbol

Granted, I don't watch a lot of TV but is anyone else surprised by the lack of publicity this game is getting? It launches (in the U.S.) in 8 days and the only thing I've seen anywhere was Jesse playing it in Breaking Bad. Had I not been following the game I may not have even known what it was, or that it was a real game.

Is Bethesda's entire advertising budget being spent on Skyrim?

I'm not sure I've seen TV ads for it, but every other website has a Skyrim banner.

There have been quite a few Rage ads on gaming websites but on mainstream TV I bet you won't see much of it due to the nature of the game.

What I do find odd though is that Bethesda decided to launch this in the same time frame as Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3.

When Fallout NV was released, there were ads all the time on UK TV. Bethesda will advertise the shit out of both of them, don't worry

that makes sense. TV driven sales aren't gonna win you over any pre-orders. They see it on TV they go to the store... if it's not there that's the end of that journey.
If you don't now about rage by now then you're probably a BestBuy 360 kinda gamer.

btw, as a gamer interested in Rage, I'm totally ok with being associated with the likes of someone who watches shows like BrBa. Kinda elevates them both on the cool scale.

I've seen Rage adverts on TV. I think I may have actually seen one at the cinema, as well... But online, I've seen millions of the fuckers. Entire sites had the frame replaced with Rage themed pimpage, for example.

Its the most advertising I've seen for an id Software game, well, ever...

Yeah I have seen TV adverts too - inbetween the Man United vs Chelsea match last week as well I think which would have had a big audience
