Me, still battling my ISP... It has been a week and despite requesting escalation days ago I still find myself calling these idiots. It feels like I have put a gun to my head

Success, hopefully. I am still at 1MB/s until the exchange staff action...

You guessed, my ISP never calls back even after requesting escalation after days of terrible service from staff answering their support line.

I finally posted on a tech-forum here and an ISP representative offered assistance if needed. I grabbed it.
Near 2 hours on the phone to him and I see progress...
Short answer and text cut from his email to me ....

.... would seem that your original order for ADSL2+ (December 2012) was not possible to fulfill due to a lack of ports at your local exchange. Our system has then processed an order for an Off-Net service with ADSL2+ speeds and our billing system applied a regular ADSL1 billing

I am now to pay $10 a month less for the better product. I am still trying to get my head around this….. Seems a human did 'the right thing' 4 years ago and software has now discovered and corrected
