[spoiler]Oh simple really; i deduced it based on his reintroduction; no need for that at all unless you're going to off him for dramatic effect. Also, he was not the main character, that was Rey (as a rule you don't kill off main characters - it upsets the viewer). It's Obi all over again, only a different character.

Here's a spoiler for the Star Wars two Star Warses from now; Luke also dies, some sort of a heroic sacrifice that saves the entire galaxy and ensures the continuum of the Jedi way of life (or something). Rey will be his successor naturally, and all will be well with her as the chief jedi, many little jedi's will practice their rainbow swords under her supervision. Etc.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]He was referring to ROTJ and that's old news. He has always said he thought it would've been good for the series and the Han character if he died a heroes death in ROTJ.[/spoiler]
