so, someone who likes to catch fish carries a rod around with him; someone who likes to play golf carries clubs around with him
a guy who carries a concealed firearm around with him likes to - what? shoot paper targets of opportunity?
seriously gramps, unlike most people ITT i don't have a problem with all the guns you own. the RKBA is a right you're lucky to have, and target shooting sounds like fun. sure, it's an expensive right measured in blood spilled, but then so is the right to own and drive your own car. but carrying the thing around with you everywhere, and claiming it's not for self-defence? (you imply this isn't the reason when you say it isn't out of fear of crime) what's the point?

It's also legal to own an axe, so why doesn't gramps walk around carrying an axe?
Carry an axe to the grocery store, carry it while walking your dog, carry it to check your mailbox...your neighbors will respect you. They also make them small little axes so you can conceal carry.

Or just carry a shovel.
Re: So I bought a new shotgun...
You know, in WW1 the shovel was the preferred hand to hand weapon for the assault troops... one good hack and apparently you can split a skull in half. And it didn't get stuck in your victim like a bayonet would sometimes

Oh man, when I was in the Corps we used to use our entrenching tools to chop down small trees. An e-tool (as it's called) is a small, folding camp shovel with serrations on one side of the blade. Yeah, that thing would easily split a wig.
*fashions e-tool holster*
There, now I'm a badass, and fuck you all for not understanding my enjoyment of shovels and my desire to carry one because I have a legal right to do so. I LIKE TO DIG, OK? WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THAT

No, no and no. Again, you asked specific questions and I gave you specific answers. Now you want to angle for the more extreme/ridiculous.seremtan wrote:so, someone who likes to catch fish carries a rod around with him; someone who likes to play golf carries clubs around with him

Basically my gun goes everywhere my car goes, unless I feel particularly inclinded to take it with me when I get out.

Re: So I bought a new shotgun...
Here's some more really cool pics. I just got back from a local gun show where I picked up a few accessories for my AR pistol.

As you can see, I now have the rear flip-up sight in place. But today I picked up a single point sling adaptor, single point sling, forend mount brass catcher and EOTech 511 Holosight. I got a real good deal on the EOTech sight. I bought it from some dude walking around the show selling various items from his personal collection.

That gun looks absolutely fucking stupid, and I'd love to own it if I were allowed.

If this is the "rule" with which you travel with both your car and guns, perhaps you should kill two birds with one stone and just buy one of these:YourGrandpa wrote:Basically my gun goes everywhere my car goes, unless I feel particularly inclinded to take it with me when I get out.

It's got more guns and ammo than you could carry yourself (ie...it's practical) and even has a rocket launcher and bullet-proof helmet.

Re: So I bought a new shotgun...
and probably has the stability and handling of a pregnant elephant on wheels
also, who'd watch gramps's six on that thing?
