Good suggestion. I will do so some time probably, but first I need to put together my IKEA desk and clean up the attic a bit so I can put it down there. Then I have a place to put a new PC and I can start thinking of buying a new one.

It took me roughly 3 hours to finish it, but i was checking everything out, Looking for hidden areas and or glitches, and overall enjoying the story.
Well done game indeed.

LOL you.
i should probably have clarified that i get a 7.4 rating with nothing more than an i5, 4GB RAM, a GTX460 and 80GB SSD
that's not exactly cutting edge now, is it?

Beat the co-op with my roommate last night over the course of 4-5 hours. Great time but it didn't feel like it ever got hard enough.

I want to play this, but I have no friends to play coop with. Would anyone be willing to play with me? I really don't want to buy it for the single player alone...

The the i7 is not cutting edge at all as well, the sandybridges are out.
the i7 2600K is a good 2-20% faster then mine.

The rating are fucked, I have similar specs and I don't get anything above a 7.6.

Not sure what to say man, The only thing still lingering is the fact that you have an i5 sandy bridge, when i was talking about the i7's.
I've re-ran it a few times and always got the same score.
Edit: Another thing that is holding that system back, the ram... its CL9.
I'm sure its 9-9-9-24 @ 1.5V , While mine is 7-8-7-20 @ 1.65V.

not really sure what that means, but the RAM is the highest rated component on my rig. the SSD is giving me the 7.4 - probably because it doesn't have the fastest transfer rate
tbh i've kinda lost the thread of what point i was trying to make now. i'm happy with my system, and that's all that matters. i haven't subjected it to any serious punishment yet, and i don't generally give a rat's wiener about benchmarks
Gamespot comparing graphics on 3/4 platforms (xbox360/ps3/pc, why not include the mac version?)
Did Valve really deliberately debilitate pc graphics quality?

seeing how valve openly dislikes the closed console platform and only release for it because its good business sense, i extremely doubt it.
Eraser wrote:The buying part there isn't the problem. It's the "having a PC that can run it" part is, though. I need this game for XBox 360.
Fair enough, although I cannot possibly imagine playing this game with any level of success on a gamepad. Especially when it comes to those multi-fling portals where you're creating portals on the fly, as it were.
