In fairness they've just said they will announce the release date at their Gamescon presentation that was already pencilled in

Did you mean to say PS4 instead of PS3, Memphis?
Otherwise I don't really get the point.

I see.
It wasn't exactly a big secret they were showcasing the game on a pc, but what's the fucking point?
It's like showcasing the acceleration of a Maserati when trying to sell a Lada.
Just a truthful portrayal of the actual product would be nice.
But yeah, honesty in advertising

Oh, I interpreted BF4 at 720p@60 to be a good thing. These days games are typically rendered at sub-HD resolutions (lower than 720p) and then upscaled. Rendering at a lower res and fixing aliasing artifacts with post processing (anti-aliasing and motion blur) is often faster than rendering at higher resolutions. In most cases games can't be rendered at a high res and have motion blur, so they have to choose between res and blurring. Sacrificing the resolution for motionblur gives a better visual result (if done right).
With Battlefield being notorious for its 30fps approach (contrary to CoD's 60fps approach) I thought that BF4 running at 60fps is a good thing. And it running at 720p (and I assume with all the post processing enabled) should definitely be a visual improvement over what he have on the current gen. Also, don't forget that BF4 is a cross-gen game and a launch title for the next gen.The game was probably designed with current gen hardware in mind and then the technical numbers were increased for next gen consoles.
And compare current Xbox 360/PS3 games with their launch titles and you can be sure that the next gen won't truly shine before their 3rd birthdays.

I still don't understand why Sony insists on keeping the left analog stick and d-pads where they are instead of swapping their positions. Any time I strafe right and turn left in a FPS, my thumbs bump. Anyone else have that problem?

Yeah it annoyed me on the Wii classic controller as well.

Gran Turismo. Joypads aren't for first-person-shooters, mouse and keyboard are; moron.

I'll ignore the moronics on your end to ask you a valid question: how is the layout of the PS3 controller an advantage vs the Xbox 360 controller layout?

So the Xbox One is $100 more expensive due to Kinect right?
Well, here's Sony's PS4 bundle that includes a camera
and comes with Killzone: Shadow Fall and a second controller, for the same price as an Xbox One.
