Cops should be strong enough to take a scratch or two . I mean, really, if two cops can't subdue someone that doesn't even have a weapon with their bare hands, then goddamn they suck at their job. Notice how when you watch COPS or any other cop show that they always use brute strength and numbers in subdueing people that most likely pose little to moderate threat? Yeah. Yeah this place is pretty fucked up, where some countries have so little violent crime it's amazing. What sucks is having your wife work in a really bad area, compound that with having her work late and leave the building alone after 10PM. It gives you a feeling of helplessness knowing that if something happens you are 40 minutes away and can't do a fucking thing about it.

I would love to wake up every day knowing that the worst thing that could happen to me is my allergies acting up because of all the pretty flowers, but I know that's not going to happen here.

With this chatty woman there were no such signs, so I think it would have been better to try to physically get her out of the car, or take her phone from her, bearing in mind that there were two officers.

As I understand it, tasering is very painful, probably at least as bad as a similarly incapacitative beating, and although it may not normally do permanent physical damage, it does carry risks.

Hey dipshit, scroll up and watch the video, the entire video. The first officer tried to remove her from the car and she jerked away leaning further into the car. At that point the second officer tried to take the cell phone and she took a swing at him.

That wasn't clear in the original video, and it does change things though I still wouldn't endorse the course of action taken.

I don't think they had got to the stage where using the taser was necessary.

Certainly they shouldn't have used it twice.

They tried to handle her once and that's one more time than they should've had to.

I've been tasered (just to see what is was like) and it is incapacitating, but that's about it. There are no residual affect from being tazered, that stupid cunt was being very dramatic. As I said before, a tazer wouldn't harm a person with a pacemaker and I much rather be hit with that over pepper spray any day.

That's not what I did. I said "As I understand it" meaning that I have a general impression from things I've heard or read, rather than a firm grasp or reference to reliable sources. I was open to people correcting me if they provided evidence to back it up. You haven't.

I don't see where you said enything about pacemakers before, you claim there are no residual effects but you don't even attempt to back this up. I don't know much about the risks of tasers but I am aware that it is an issue, and you're claiming it doesn't exist.

Again, as I undertand it, tasers can be set to deliver different strengths of shock. For example, one article I read when tasers were beginning to be introduced in law enforcement described how the tasers were being demonstrated to memebers of the press and so on, but at a vastly reduced strenth to what the officers would normally use.

So the fact that you were fine with your taser experience proves nothing.
