Gregory's Girl 7/10
Cute coming of age film with no violence, some decent dialogue and quirky performances.

so if the movie wasnt by tarantino it wouldnt be good ?
tarantino is a good director, he just needs - much like George Lucas - a right hand with at all times who will punch him in the face if his creativity goes overboard
I agree but
I just meat that it's a tarantino flick. With his work on pulp fiction you would expect a good film ya know :icon31:

The Big Sleep - 8/10
it lost two points for being so complicated that even the original author couldn't explain who killed one of the characters.
But it got 8 points because the first conversation between Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart is the best dialogue I've ever heard. And it's just an all-around kick-ass film noir.

First 12 hours are pretty good (except for his retarded family) and then the series gets more retarded with every episode.
If they didn't have enough good content for 24 hours, they should have just called it "12".
The funny thing is, whenever something goes wrong, it always a woman's fault. I constantly want to punch his wife and daughter for being so retarded and hysterical. What DON'T they fuck up?
24 teaches me that women are stupid.
The first season of 24 (save for the ending) is the worst. Season 3 is by far the best.

Yea, I also liked Cabin Fever, but really Hostel is maybe worth a "rental" and thats about it.

I'll still go see it. It's one of those flicks where no matter what anybody tells me I'll still go.

Last I read, season 2 was in the works, then cancelled (since the first set didn't sell well enough). Don't know what the current status might be, but you might want to keep an eye out on here:

think hannibal was saying that the season 2 dvd release had been cancelled, rather than another season of the show.
back on topic, madagascar 7/10 - good stuff. ben stiller somehow still manages to be an unlikeable twat even when he's only providing a voice, but everyone else is great. especially the monkeys.

That's what I meant. I think if they decided to produce and release the 2nd season on DVD now they'd easily make a profit. The clamor for cult TV stuff on DVD is at an all-time high.

ah i c
btw hannibal - watch firefly if you haven't already. lemonstring DVD has em if i ain't mistaken.
don't watch serenity (the movie) until you've seen the series, and only watch the movie for the story - it doesn't hold a candle to the series in terms of quality. (well maybe a little candle)

People who like Ang Lee movies? Love stories? Excellent music and scenery? Just to name a few.
