I ride like everyone isn't paying attention. Extended following distances, no unnecessary passing, no more than 10 mph over the posted speed, flash brake light when breaking, constantly checking mirrors, escape route planning at every stop, etc. I live in Florida where there are lot of really old people who have no business driving. You've got to ride on the razor's edge at all times.

I drive everyday like that because it is a madhouse out on the road.

Going from home to office, job to job and back home again, I dive around 60K miles per year. I'm WAY more comfortable in my truck. For one, it's easier to be seen. I'm also surrounded by metal and not so worried about getting run over while stopped. I'm not saying you should be less careful in a car/truck. But you are certainly more aware/nervous while riding a motorcycle. At least I am anyway.

I have a Nutri Ninja Pro 900 and use it to make the most amazing protein fruit smoothies. My girlfriend has a serious food processor for delicious soups.

I'd feel better in a big F350 too of course
FYI I am on old motorcycle rider and currently a pushbike rider (recreational) and street wise.

Have you ever placed a can of soft drink in the freezer and forgetting it, later find it has exploded?


I put a bottle of wine in the freezer to cool down last night and forgot all about it until this morning when I expected to find a broken or at least cracked bottle and/or pieces of frozen wine ice-blocks littering the freezer drawer.

Well I am astonished! To my complete amazement the bottle was undamaged and the contents, still firmly capped were frozen solid.

I treated the situation as I would an unexploded bomb and carefully placed a towel over the bottle in situ before attempting to move it. I gingerly removed and carefully carried it the the laundry was tub half expecting it to 'go off' or at least fall apart in my hands.

It has thawed now and I am about to test the contents

Yeah, it's usually alright to keep booze in the freezer. The alcohol won't freeze, so the chance of a burst is minimal...

Yeah, the properties of water are pretty unique, but because of its ubiquity we think they're the norm for all liquids.

Water, for example, is almost one of the only liquids that floats on itself when solid!

Here I was thinking all liquids expand somewhat when frozen.

There's only two elements that are liquid at room temperature.
Mercury is the one I remember...... googles... Ah yes,the other is Bromine (Br), an reddish brown liquid with a suffocating odor...

Pretty sure that water expands when frozen due to the crystal lattice structure that is formed upon freezing, which basically introduces "pockets" of space in between the crystals, which then manifest as a greater over volume for the same mass, and less density. Also, buoyancy is a function of displaced liquid mass and displacing object mass. If the displaced liquid mass is greater than the object that displaces it, the object floats. So, larger ice crystals displace their volume in water, which is necessarily heavier because we've already established that ice is less dense than water, so ice floats on water.

This is why boats are wide. They displace a fuckton of water, and that volume of water weighs far more than the boat does, so the boat floats.

Water isn't an element.
H is an element, O is an element and combined they form... H2O!

I know water is a substance as is petrol and oil, blood even... There must thousands of substances liquid at STP (standard temperature & pressure).
