Crafted a bucket yesterday and flooded a mine I'd created....

Today I am lost in Extreme Hills but keep stumbling across old markers I had placed down days/weeks ago :tomato:

One word... HUGE

huge, yes - but it's just repetition of the same stuff more or less. if there's a MC2 (and there might be) they should make maps a more manageable size (i.e. max at 25x25k blocks) and make them worth exploring

At day 329 and having mined 95,982 stone blocks & used 12,523 cobblestones blocks I have just found 'clay'

Get out more, jesus! Don't you ever just go walking for like 3 hours straight and see where you end up?

Hmm, in map or in life?

Well, both. But in relation to the discovery of in-game clay, I would say in map.

I have dug a tunnel (The Great Escape) down deep, level 8 -12 and gone about 1200 blocks. On the way and keeping a straight course I have managed to divert those tall lava falls and cross those pesky lava lakes. It is so addictive!

now if you'd done that in the Nether, you could have put down another portal at the end of the 1200 blocks and come out in the Overworld 9600 blocks away from where you first went in

Portals, Nether, Overworld? I really must read more on this....

For those that follow Clicky

Back and yo report, I built a portal & teleported to the Nether and then got lost :tear: but experience pays off; I saved my game before the adventure :D

it helps if you have at least a vague idea of what you're doing, as with most games

Yes I stumbled upon some horses, seems like weeks ago. On an island I thought and quite a surprise I remember. Never got to ride one as I was too busy exploring (still am but deep). I scored a saddle in a subterranean vault, again a while a ago. It had a chest and a spinning thing in a cage on fire (I didn't touch). That chest also had a CD in it?

I am so glad Santa is going to surprise me with 4 hard cover 'all about & how to' books so I can read up on all this new world.

Yes I hear you scream, online reading available but I fancy manuals as in RTFM :D

PS: Forgot to mention that I am currently exploring an abandoned mine (shaft) complex at the end of that long tunnel I built. Pesky spider wen everywhere and another spinning thing in a cage on fire :smirk:

the cage with spinny things in are mob spawners

the CD is a record; if you craft a jukebox you can play it

Just to report; I have continued digging deep, level 12/13/14 and gone near 3k blocks building my 'straight as an arrow' railway.

I got really tired of walking it so I built myself a mine-cart railway after a little reading (when I discovered rail track in my first abandoned mine). Started it about a week ago.

I am not reading up on the items yet too much, just preferring to dig and explore. I get a kick out of keeping the line straight. This means ongoing blocking off or diverting those pesky water and lava flows. Luckily I worked out the 'hold on' key so I don't fall :) into lave pools.

I got bored pushing the mine cart I guess and smartened it up electrically (red-stone power  )

I have just discovered my 3rd abandoned mine. Boy they are complex structures and those little hidden traps are getting interesting. Lots of wood too.

Just found a mine cart with an Enchanted Book (Book of Enchantments).

I said earlier, I am so glad Santa is going to surprise me with 4 hard cover 'all about & how to' books so I can read up on all this new world.

Sometimes hard covers are called for and it is Christmas. You never know, they will probably be collectable in the future.

Still mining deep :)
