Soldier - 4/10

The story itself has potential, but lacks in execution. Too predictable and sentimental in part. Silly and unrealistic portrayals of the military units and tactics.

i hated that movie. I wanted to like it, because I like Carrie-Anne Moss, but it just piled on cliché after cliché and the characters were mostly cardboard cut-outs. I don't even remember if it was Kingsley or someone else, but one of the characters introduced in a diner near the beginning was a painfully bad Hannibal Lecter wannabe. And the grainy sped-up "psycho-vision" got really old.

That's pretty much all I remember. But Ben Kingsley's been in some terrible movies lately: Suspect Zero, A Sound of Thunder, and Bloodrayne? That's a triptych of shittiness right there.

Animation is NOT a genre. It is a medium.

Scifi is a genre, romance is a genre, action is a genre.

Animation is not. It is a medium that can be used to produce a piece of work within a genre.

E.G

Titan A.E is a film in the sci fi genre.
Finding Nemo is a film in the family comedy genre.
The Incredibles is a film in the superhero/action/adventure genre.

Watch the extras on the incredibles dvd, even Brad Bird says animation isn't a genre, infact he goes as far as saying people who think animation is a genre are retarded.
