I had the red ring awhile ago...all it was was the cable came loose in the back. scared me though. :o

i have 3 quarters of the ring. according to xbox.com, this is because a powersupply failure - recognized by an orange light on the psu when the console is on (mine is green like normal) or a "hardware failure". how generic can you get.

ill call MS tomorrow and they better fix it, this fucking sucks. i wanna play teh crackdown :D

i just found out my router wont allow me to play games over live because it isnt 100% compatible. agay! i need to get this sorted quick cuz i'm gonna need my armored core fix when that comes out next week :(

route ports 3074 (UDP & TCP) and 88 (UDP only) to your 360.. sorted

doesn't setting it up as a dmz do the same thing by putting it outside of the firewall and not needing to forward any ports and such?

i've tried the dmz thing but it didn't work...i'll still try the ports thing later though when i get home :)

My router has excellent upnp support but I still had to open those ports before I could host games.

sorted. now my NAT status is set to OPEN :D however when i tried playing crackdown with someone it was laggy as hell, and this guy only lives like 3 miles from me...

anyone fancy a game of crackdown later so i can see if something is borked with my internet connection?

crackdown can get extremely laggy. shaft and me were playing and it was in slomo, then I played with another yank and it was silk. played with a duthc0 and it was a john woo flick again.

try testing with a diff game.
