I'm glad the last episode was excellent again, thought the previous one was a bit unsatisfactory. Perhaps even the first not-so-good episode of the series actually.

In any case, even though we've not seen what happens with dragon woman this episode was smashingly awesome, what with the Imp playing hilarious mind games with the small council and threatening to cut off manhoods and feeding it to the goats. Also, well played Arya, well played :D

I love Cersei getting pissed off more and more at Tyrion. Sometimes though, it seems like he's the only smart guy of the whole show. So far he's been kind of untouchable, always two steps ahead of the rest of the people. Although he nearly got executed.

I find Petyr and Lord Varys very intelligent. In fact, Varys has Tyrion in his pocket to some extent, knowing about the imp's ladyfriend...

I also found Varys' snitching to be out of character...forced upon him for the shake of plot progression. I don't really see his character making such a short sighted decision...unless I'm missing something?

Maybe it is to show just how driven he is to promote his business interests that his eagerness to progress at an age where wisdom might still elude him, becomes his kryptonite. Whereas Varys is shown to not only be intelligent but also wise.

I will say that with this series they seem to be taking a few more liberties with the content of the books, and things seem to be compressed somewhat, with dialogue simplified to get the point across quickly.

That's the whole point, he can talk his way out of anything and still have the upper hand.

Maybe I misunderstood, but wasn't it Pycelle (the old man) who snitched to the queen?

Heh, a bit of help to keep up with all the characters and who's who. Limited to season 1 characters though.

Ehr, actually, it was Petyr Baelish (Littlefinger, the pimp) that acted all butthurt about it. Varys is the eunuch (Geoff).

And where is the old blind man at Castle Black, the brother of the mad king and the father of the dragon ladies personal bodyguard, the lord commander of the black watch

Oh hey, i'm theorizing btw that the plan of the Iron pirates to raid the north is nothing more than a test of Theon's loyalty. It's an extremely silly plan of attack, as if Rob won't defend the north but stay in the south fighting a war instead, risking everything... pfft.

I'm also theorizing that our favourite little wolf man is capable of remote controlling his wolf through magixs, like a sort of shapeshifter but different :ninja:

yeah but she's bound to find out about Tyrion's foreign girl-toy, whereupon violence and threats of vengeance will ensue

Eh, no. First you said Varys was the snitch and I pointed out it wasn't Varys but Pycelle that snitched, then you say that you thought "they both failed the test" because "he acted all butthurt" about it. Considering that the context of the discussion up to that point was Varys and Pycelle, and you stating that you erroneously thought Varys was the snitch because an otherwise undefined "he" was acting all butthurt, it is the only option to conclude that you were saying Varys was acting butthurt. I correct you for a second time by pointing out that it was Littlefinger who was acting all butthurt and now you dare to say I can only remember one reply deep? Shush boy, get to your senses.

oh, ps:
this may help
