If the Citadel itself is the catalyst and controls all the reapers to ensure balance to "the chaos", then why the fuck did it order Sovereign to attack and destroy the Citadel in ME1? That seems a little counter-productive to their plans don't you think? Also, activating and blowing up all the mass relays at once probably wiped out the whole galaxy and did more damage than the Reapers themselves could have done. At least they only harvest the people. Shepards actions probably destroyed every planet in the galaxy and left every ship in orbit stranded, alone and facing a delicious cold death. I'm all for downer endings, but these are literally all the same regardless of what you choose, minus the explosion colour lol. This shit makes no sense and just smells of crappy writing to me.

Old Hitler Meme tells it how it is.
The reapers didn't want to destroy the citadel, they needed it to manually open the mass relays for invasion.

Even though a lot of people died, it still wouldn't be mass extinction of all sentient beings. Even if it was, it would halt future cycles.

I enjoyed it. They had balls and forced massive change. Part of why I like it is because it doesn't really tell you shit. It's interesting to consider the effects of the end decision you made. Any time you think about a game or a movie after it's over means it did it's job.

To be fair, Nightshade, this is a trilogy, 5+ years in the making. You spend easily 100+ hours following the story, you really don't want it spoiled. It'd be the same as watching a movie for that long and having the ending spoiled...

Those Harry Potter spoilers are pretty specific. Who's the nerd now?

Oh I'd say the guy that threw a shitfit over video game spoilers. Harry Potter's a bit geeky, to be sure, but if you have kids and they've seen the movies, well you'd have to be pretty fucking thick to not pick up on the incredibly obvious plot twists. That and there's about a bajillion pop culture references to same, so I guess the nerd hat's sitting squarely on your dome.

You seem pretty defensive. Pretty sure noone here is going to judge your love of Harry Potter. You enjoy fantasy wizards and young kids waving wands. No big deal.

BioWare: didn't like the ending? that's because we wanted to milk you a little more with a post-ending DLC

The only scanning I've done so far is for a side quest on Citadel real quick. Not looking forward to 100%ing the scanning stuff...

I couldn't read past the first paragraph because I haven't beaten the game yet. With that in mind:

1. If that's not true, then fuck Bioware for making a shitty ending to a hugely successful and highly anticipated trilogy finale.
2. If that is true, then fuck EA for making us pay extra to get the real ending. That's like watching a movie that stops 10 minutes before the ending and having to pay another few bucks to finish...
c. Despite my resentment if it's true, I'll still buy it because of all the time I invested in the series. I want closure, damnit! And I'm sure that's what EA's counting on.

I just started and I'm bout to knock it out in about 30-45 min. Not that bad, just wish the Reapers would fuck off...

kind of a cheating solution if you're interested:
just scan like crazy, even when they are on to you... you still have some time before they catch up to you...just exit the system and get right back in, for some more quick scans in the areas that you missed. If you find something and exit the system before you "collect" it, is no big deal since the location mark remains on the map. By the time they catch up to you again, you'll have time to do all your scanning and collecting you need. You probably already know that once you "land" time freezes until you leave the planet again, so it doesn't matter how slow the scanning process is.

ps
if you find a location but couldn't get to it in time, or if the location is too close to a reaper entree point, just exit the system and move your ship away from the circle and approach it from a direction that your marker is actually at in relation to that system...that will give you the closest entree point.

I just finished up all my scanning. I just need to do a quick walk through of the Citadel to finish up my, well, I call them eavesdropping quest...

I only do those quests if I happen to notice the item people are looking for. Then I'll take it back to them, but I never go out of my way to find what they want. The side missions I WILL do are all the ones that show up on my galaxy map as flashing light points. Those are meaty. Since I've done every one so far, I don't even know which ones (if any) are skippable.

Here's a juicy nonspoiling quote from that link:

" Seriously, if you people knew all the stuff we are planning...you'd, we'll - hold onto your copy of me3 forever."
