In any case, aren't these people elected officials? Because that would mean we can still say lol yanks.
Gybloki must have gizz in his eyes or he can't read. Because I've been promoting stricter gun regulation on mag fed pistols and rifles for years.

I'm in California registered as an absentee voter. Never received a ballot in the mail.
Went to the polls for my precinct and was not on the list of registered voters; I was sent to an adjacent precinct polling booth to see if I was on their list by mistake somehow. Nope.
After they called me in, it turns out that I was mysteriously flagged as an "inactive voter". There was no event on my part that would have caused this.
I was given a provisional ballot which I may as well have just flushed down the toilet for all the good that'll do.
I'm calling my county elections office to check on the status of my vote and expect to get some bullshit answer as to why they decided to discard it as they often do with provisionals.

I also know a few people who are registered Democrats who went to vote only to find out their party was swapped to Independent or Republican.

Oh i'm sorry, i must have mistaken you for that other redneck who preposterously claimed that the availability of semi automatic rifles is a good thing, an unchangeable reality and has absolutely nothing to do with mass shootings.

I guess when the answer to the question doesn't suit your agenda you change the argument. Typical.

I have no idea what most Americans think gramps. I only know your elected officials appear to have voted down something that appeared to halt this practice.

There's also your use of the word 'Terrorists', for some reason written with a capital T as if they're a specific ethic group. If i'd have any hope of a serious conversation with you about this i'd kindly ask you to specify this word - because who are we talking about? Muslims? People on the no fly list? Right wing nutcases that prep for armageddon in Utah? Repressive regimes that buy weapons from the US and give them to armed groups that we consider terrorist movements?

those elected officials couldn't care less if the law swings one way or another. All they care about is who fills their pockets the quickest. And right now, that is the NRA.

I genuinely hope you are proud of these people doing this. I'd shake every single one of their hands personally.

I dunno, but this whole filibuster thing sounds to me like a tactic a three-year-old would employ to get his way. And yet Americans are letting their government behave this way.

People have to do what they have to do to get shit sorted out.

If only Americans had something in their Bill of Rights so they protest their actions in some way :smirk:

It appears you disagree with my views. I'm wondering why this is. I'm not too familiar with political practices in the US and only go by the shreds of information I'm getting through media and informational sites like Wikipedia, so maybe I'm misinterpreting what the whole filibuster thing is about. I always understood that a filibuster is basically to keep talking in the senate to (usually) prevent a vote from happening. To me, this seems like the political equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and going "la la la la!" all the time. That sounds very immature, unproductive and, well, unprofessional to me. Don't you think that rubs off in a bad way on politicians? Wouldn't you agree that it wouldn't be all that strange if the general population called politicians out for it and demanded they started settling their differences in a mature way?
