director's a wong kar wai fan but handles it very well and keeps you looking at the screen. bit bleak. didn't seem like the subtitles were very accurate.

Ima beat you about the head, neck, face, chest, and breast with a copy of Raising Arizona.
I agree, Nick Cage is similar to Denzel Washington, Cuba Gooding, and a few other actors I could name. No matter what, they're the same character in every film. I just happen to like Cage's character, and I thought Lord of War was an ace film.
I just watched Saw II a bit ago, it was ok. Hated the ending, but it caught and held me prior to that. I give it a 6/10.
Watched Doom last night. I like Karl Urban, I like The Rock, and I love Doom. How on earth you can take all those quality ingredients and fuck the end result up so completely is baffling. Completely shit film. 2/10 and FUCK YOU, ANDRZEJ BARTKOWIAK.
To counterbalance the shitfest that is Doom, I had also watched A Bridge Too Far and Kelly's Heroes. Both are excellent WWII films, one historical, one not. Bridge is great, and absolutely everyone of consequence is in it. Came out in '75, I think, and it's about Operation:Market Garden. 9/10.
Kelly's Heroes also has a lot of big names in it, and it's about a group of soldiers trying to get their hands on 14,000 gold bars that the Nazis have in a bank 30 miles behind enemy lines. Also 9/10.

Yeah, I'm a war movie nut meself. A Bridge Too Far and Battle of Britain were recently remastered and gussied up for the "2 disc special edition" treatment....fantastic transfers and nice supplements. Definitely worth owning.

PhoneBooth.
6.5/10.. its an ok concept but they shouldve fleshed it out a bit more. the intro and outro were also very lame and unfitting (the whole 3d sattelilte thing).
bit predictable, too

Yes. Entirely too one-dimensional.

I really like Britanny Murphy in all her roles.
Underworld Evolution
5/10 - If you liked the first one, you're gonna like this one as well.
If you thought the first one was retarded however, you're gonna think the same about this one.
Oh, and make sure you watch the first one before watching this one or you won't know what's going on.

I watch FMJ about once a month. It's a brilliant film.

I tried to watch FMJ, but had to stop when they were beating the one dude w/ socks. It was a little too much for me. I'm still surprised I made it through The Deer Hunter....
