Ahh, that's why. I noticed the repros (pulled 3 yet) to be significantly smaller than the origin. About 5-10%, I'd say. That is due to the PUR alone or does Gel00 shrink as well?

that's entirely in your urethane. Silicone shrinks a tiny bit, but nothing you'd notice without a micrometer.

Good tip, thanks. I had another round. This time I had the form and the resin cooled down in the fridge before casting. Took longer to cure of course but less shrinkage. Getting used to it :).

I went permie at work today after 2 years of being a fixed term plebian. Yay job security, I guess?

My tooth fucking hurts and I haven't seen the dentist in about 3 years and I know even if everything is fine he's going to make me pay for avoiding him with an intense dental examination

I bought this fucking thing a few years back and I'm sick of the maintenance bills, but not yet enough to endure the tire-kickers that auctioning it off would bring.

Uh that's it for my personal blog that covers the past few years. Fuck.

So like Radio NZ house? Beehive, kinda. In 2012 Treasury stood up 'Central Agencies Shared Services' which provides finance, HR and IT for the State Services Commission, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and Treasury. I'm in the weird position of providing IT architecture for all 3 agencies.

As for Windy... Bunny St is no joke. Rock you like a hurricane, that shit :!:

Yuup. The last hair-raiser I flew in on, was sat next to a very portly jewish rabbi (feels like the setup for a joke). He was sweating profusely and clearly questioning his faith as we hurtled towards the tarmac.

phantasmagoria wrote: Yeah you'd need a vac chamber/degasser to remove bubbles, you can build your own quite easily if you can pick up a decent pump on the cheap tho.
I was reading that, with resin, one could actually use a pressure pot to compress the air bubbles to such incredibly tiny sizes that they're unnoticeable. The idea was that it's harder to pull a vacuum to degas resin quick enough vs silicone.
Have you heard of, or experienced, anything like that?
I have a vacuum chamber set up and haven't gotten around to throwing down money for a pressure pot to try out yet.

Stupid shit you'd not see in other cars, like door levers detaching in the cold, same with the windows, broke them and couldn't roll the window down cause the internal parts are made of plastic and broke in the cold. Alternator went bad and probably some more problems I can't remember. I'll never buy another kia.
Really, what year?
It was a while ago, possible that they've since gotten their shit together. I think it was 2006, a Kia Spectra I believe.

Yeah my 1999 Mazda Protege had all kinds of mechanical issues and corrosion, there's no way any of that has been fixed in the 15 years since the model was discontinued.

Moron.

Hah... -20C is nice. It was probably -35C when it broke.

Except that the new mazda's I've driven are still pretty shit cars. I see a lot of rust on newer ones and the ones I've driven which is pretty much the whole line of mazda's except the Mazda 6 and the Miata are all crap. The handling is strange and god the noise, my motorbike makes less noise than a fucking mazda on the highway. Then there's the seats, which I suspect were designed by someone with cerebral palsy because Stephen Hawking is the only person I think would find them comfortable.
