Um...fuck...

Then you laugh at me when I start a thread on how our rights are being infringed on and it's all voluntary

My roommate's plan to reform our healthcare: people should stop being so unhealthy.
Oh and we should barter services to avoid taxes.

So wait, isn't there a provision in there REQUIRING us to have coverage!?
I guess the point of health care reform is to make sure we all have healthy sex lives, because we're all about to be fucked.

Yea, I read something about that last night.
I try not to give the Dems too much credit here, but surely they at least understand how disastrous this would be for them politically, even if the polls about the public option (and everything else) didn't seem to reach them.
I'm starting to wonder what the point of this charade even was, TBH. Because if a bill gets passed at this rate, Obama's not going to get any political benefits from it, from either side. Not only will he wreck the Democrats' recent gains, but he will also disenfranchise all the young, first-time voters who came out for him, and reinforce the republicans' rhetoric that the government can't do anything right.
That coupled with his grandly confrontational oratories to Wall Street, followed up with absolutely no action, is really starting to make him look like a wimp to his base.
