Brexiting is closer than I thought it would be
Re: Brexiting is closer than I thought it would be
I'm hoping the decision gets vetoed - it's not guaranteed just yet.
Two of my Friends are already accelerating their plan to leave the UK; one to China and one to New Zealand heh.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a Dutch referendum on your EU membership in the next year.Ryoki wrote: In any case, like Phant, i'm actually worried about my future a little. Because this is going to make all of us poorer... goddamnit.

So is that 52% of Britain who voted in favor of Brexit now going "Oh yay woohoo we won! Durrrr.... and now?"
Re: Brexiting is closer than I thought it would be
I doubt it and I don't think we'll vote in favor of leaving. I think the British are far more cynical when it comes to the EU than us Dutch. But, having said that, the anti-EU sentiment is increasingly being fueled by (mostly) right-wing parties here.phantasmagoria wrote:I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a Dutch referendum on your EU membership in the next year.Ryoki wrote: In any case, like Phant, i'm actually worried about my future a little. The odds were well in favour of remain from what I recall. The bookies have probably had huge losses from this!

That's the thing that's got me like -Memphis wrote:I still can't quite believe we were collectively fucking mad enough to lemming-leap into the unknown. It's almost surreal what a complete and total shambles the whole thing has been. If I were a betting man, I'd have had a sack of solid coinage down on remain, 'til those numbers started coming in.

I knew it was gonna be bumpy after the 2nd result (Newcastle), people have literally no idea what they have just voted for. I was surprised to see the results potentiality close ffs.
It also shows the state of politics in this country, just getting as far as the referendum proved that and the disconnect Labour has with its voters. 'kin ell. Corbyn needs to go :/

Re: Brexiting is closer than I thought it would be
So I'm just reading bits and pieces about this everywhere and I'm trying to wrap my mind around the ramifications but don't really see the big problem. I'm wondering if anyone here has a quick insight on it?
What does this mean for the EU? Is that going to collapse entirely and result in a bunch of non-collective countries bordering each other? How does this affect Greece and Italy? I know they owe a lot to the EU, or specifically Germany and what does it mean for the Germans?
So far, all I'm getting from this is that a country that wasn't really in favor for the EU left and they weren't really using that currency anyway. I know they had economic benefits of being in the EU so are they just going to be left to dry now or will this make them stronger as a nation?
I dunno, bit puzzled about what's going on atm.

I'm getting that vibe too, which is absolutely ridiculous that a country would shoot itself in the foot economically just to get the brown people out of the country. Which won't even happen anyway. Is that why they voted out? Because of immigration concerns?
Re: Brexiting is closer than I thought it would be
People voted out for different reasons, ranging from Tory run government, immigration, democracy, sovereignty, British steel... loads. It's why its such a clusterfuck.
So we got all these reasons to leave and only 1 reason to stay. Immigration is holding wages low in the UK n all, and people are seeing this and blaming the EU (freedom of movement, no border control) instead of the Torys, coupled with a steady rise in a higher cost of living and people are getting fucked off.
It's gonna be huge, for a start business is gonna pull out. My other mate working at Airbus since his apprenticeship is more than likely gonna end up on the dole. Fuck about man.

Seems like the reasons to leave are likely only to get worse after leaving... It's pretty mind boggling how mob mentality works sometimes.
Re: Brexiting is closer than I thought it would be
Well instead of Dave we're gonna have Boris, instead of Romanians we're gonna get (whoever), democracy in Britain ?? do fuck off, We are already a Sovereign country
, and British Steel is still bankrupt but now with less money...
I'm gonna go drink my British beer, cos ya know, Stella will now get a tariff

The funny thing is I don't give two shits about what happens to Britain. It's the neighboring countries I'm more concerned with.
Re: Brexiting is closer than I thought it would be
Fuck them they're fine, and fuck you.
What's the odds on Scotland leaving ?, I'm willing to bet that's an almost certainty.
Well done Dave you cocky fuck
Where's Semen ?, he can calm me down...
