Currently watching the first season of The Good Place. At moments I feel it's a tad too goody-goody for me but then it goes ahead and makes a pretty solid politically incorrect in-your-face joke so I can appreciate that. It's a great series to watch with my girlfriend, especially when mixing it up with Better Call Saul, which turned into quite a heavy bit of weekly TV.
The series is about Eleanor, a woman who died and ended up in "The Good Place" (as opposed to The Bad Place). It turns out she wasn't supposed to go to The Good Place as she was a pretty mean person on Earth. She's now trying to learn how to be a good person without arousing suspicion so she can actually stay. The series just keeps throwing these ethical hardships into view that usually end up being resolved in a humorous manner but rarely have the desired outcome. Alas, you gotta see what happens because it's too easy to spoil it when trying to explain.
Kristen Bell plays the lead role and man is she adorable. Never heard of her before but I really like the way she portrays her character (and apparently, she really really likes sloths)

It's a really good show and would recommend it to anyone.
It's very smartly written, does not resort to filler episodes (yet) and both Darcy Carden and Kristen Bell play their roles most excellently.

I'll 3rd that, it's a good one as Eraser said to watch with the significant other. Jokes, snarkiness, fun shit and good characters. decent all round

Currently watching the german mini series "Babylon Berlin".
It tells about life in Berlin in 1929 with the focus on political, societal and private issues.
It's a very well made affair, really high production value. The way it is told is a bit sloppy sometimes though. I would have wished for the parties' motives to have been better explained earlier on.

Had the opportunity to watch the first 5 minutes of a new Sky-production based on the world of german submarine film/book "Das Boot". That one looks interesting. Grim, dark and claustrophobic.

Just started Haunting of Hill House, pretty good writing and acting and some subtle spookiness.

Hill House is very good imo. Really spooky atmosphere with the odd well placed jump scare.

It's actually really good too. The pilot definitely has me hooked.

I was surprised to see that even though a budget production funded by donation it only lasted 6 episodes I was left looking for more.

I forced myself through the last season of House of Cards. If you haven't seen it yet, don't bother. The whole thing has gone off the rails. The writing is bad, the ending is a joke and it's all such a garbled mess that most of the time I didn't really have a clue what was going on.

That's a shame, that show was really good.

Well, to be honest, the show's been on a decline since s03, but s06 really sets a new low.
