Good Night and Good Luck 5/10

Not bad, immersive and understated. David Stratharin was, well, he was there. Did a decent job of portraying Murrow's determined and insightful nature, but everything else was a little flat. Seems they could have done more to convey the paranoia of the time.

Oh, and I saw A History of Violence before that, 6/10. Had a couple of intense moments, and I'm not sure if I loved or hated the ending. I'm leaning towards the former, as it sort of drove home the "Um, ok, what the hell do we do now?" aspect of the movie. Viggo was excellent, and very believeable.

Jacob's Ladder

8/10

Second time I saw it, but high reviewability factor, even if you know the clue.

"Someone like you".

On cable tv here in my country. The movie sucks, but Ashley Judd is 10/10 here.

Lord of War - 7/10

I don't really care much for Nicholas Cage, but this movie was ok. Nothing spectacular though.

Doom - 5/10

It doesn't have much to do with the game, but as a low budget sci-fi flick I think it was perfectly alright. The first person sequences worked surprisingly well, but I could have done without the wrestling fight at the end. The plot could have needed a bit more substance too.

V for Vendetta.

F for Fantastic.

I'm not going to give movies a rating as it seems to me people in this thread are too forthcoming with high ratings.

Doom. better than I expected. I thought the direction was kind of original even though it hardly followed the game. I was entertained.

Yeah I watched Doom on DVD about 3 days ago, after all the shit people have put on it I was pleasantly surprised. I don't understand what people really expect from such a movie.

Angel Heart. Saw it many years ago but had forgotten the plot. Brilliant movie, awesome performance from Mickey Rourke.

Ice Age: The Meltdown 8/10
Took my daughter to see it, I probably laughed more than she did. More awesome animation, hilarious characters (I loved Jay Leno as the slick huckster, he was some sort of armadillo...asaurus), and great voice acting. Obviously not going to win any Oscars, but it's an enjoyable film, especially with your kid(s). Although, there were more than a couple bits that scared my daughter somewhat.

Final Destination 3: 4/10. 90 min average horror movie. Loses 6 for the acting. I figure I can't knock it for plot and being one dimensional because I'd only fooling myself if I expect anything more going in to it. Watch it with a girl you want to break the ice with, there's plenty of scenes where she'll want to cuddle.

The Hills Have Eyes: 7/10. Good horror movie, the most I can say without spoiling it is that the deaths weren't as predictable as they are in most horror movies. Acting was decent enough where it doesn't detract from the movie and it was kind of cool to see the guy and the dog go rambo on the mutants at the end.

Inside Man. Not half bad, a reasonably original take on the classic bank robbery plot. Referencing Dog Day Afternoon within the dialogue was tactful.

Sadly I made the biggest plot spoiler almost right at the start of the film - only 'cause the exact same plot had been employed in an episode of Jonathan Creek years back.
