Sorry man, but the english team is dead boring. Consisting of mainly "superstars" but still spreading nothing but boredom. Both their games so far were dead tiring.
boredom /= crap

the german side is crap AND boring, and can't play any better than they have so far

england have played two boring games, played badly, but can play vastly better than that, as they did against argentina only a few months ago

When England attack they are one of the best teams to watch - the pace of the game goes up tenfold. I'd like to see Lennon have a start against Sweden next week - he has made a positive impact each time he has been brough on.

The extra pace down the right wing lets Ashley Cole go forward, and the whole setup takes the team up a few notches. We aren't a defensive side, we need to stop playing like one.

tbh i have a feeling the sweden game is going to be an even bigger snorefest than the last two england games. we always draw with sweden. i predict 0-0, maybe 1-1

i dont think germany is boring at all. in fact, usually i cant stand the german side (anyone remember germany vs paraguay wc2002 ? :icon29:) but i think this is one of the few german teams that isn't boring at all. they're fun to watch. i'm extremely impressed with lahm and it looks like chelsea is too.

england isnt boring to watch for me cause well, its england. one thing thats retarded though is that everyone's always talking about the forward line. now obviously there are some issues up at front as to who should start and whatnot (gg sven on taking walcott instead of defoe :icon27:) but theres a huge problem with the midfield. given each's individual talent, lampard and gerrard make a pretty awful combination IMO.

ive never been impressed with lampard's play making skills and for the position he plays, he needs to be a more creative player and totally control shit offensively. i've asked this before and i'll ask it again: where is the zidane/totti/ronaldinho/riquelme/hell...even landon danovon/nedved of england? i'm not saying crying foul at england not having a player of that caliber in that position, im just saying that you need a solid player that can control shit right there and connect with the forwards. all lampard can really do is shoot.

gerrard is a shadow of the player that plays for liverpool. even though he does have the ability to defend, he's not a great defender and he seems to really be missing in games for a long period of time. i forgot that he was playing in yesterday's game. he just seems to be playing in the wrong position.

sven needs to hurry up and figure out how to use these players or not use them (maybe in the case of lampard) quickly and the team will improve greatly IMO. also lennon is damn good.

fuck them cunts, we won, we are through to the next rounds
Maybe we will be slaughtered next match by Argentina but I think it will be a very boring match since both teams have nothing to win, only to lose

Holland's lucky indeed, Ivory Coast almost put one in around the 74th minute, but a defender chest-bumped it away. :icon28:

and while we're at it, anyone at all think the US can beat Italy? i give the US a 5% chance of winning.

You're not fooling anyone here, seremtan.

I dont mind You defending the english team at all. I like them pretty much actually, but saying they are "not crap" compared to the german team is simply untrue: the german team will kick your arses back to England.

I agree. The english team has played some very unimaginative football so far, if they went up against germany i don't think they'd make it.

sorry, unless there are some awesome german friendlies i've missed (i know i've missed them, but were they awesome?) in the run-up to the world cup, you're having a laugh. england would raise their game dramatically against germany. in fact, i've always thought if we could play no one but germany and argentina we'd have won the world cup several times already

other reason: while klinsmann is rebuilding the german side, they're all pretty young. the england players are in their prime, which is why all the muppets in football pundit land were saying this could be england's year (personally i don't believe it). as the saying goes: you can't win anything with kids (well apart from a GKY-sponsored wet t-shirt competition)

German has a tendency of stumbling on one leg to the playoff, and then manages to get to the finals.
IMHO if a ENG - GER duel will arise, Germany will take it.

czechs did have 2 goals in hand from the USA match ? (or was it 3 ? :/)

and ghana was in a 2 goal deficit after italy game ?

so, they on the same score sheet now meaning that whoever wins there next matches by the highest amount of goals goes through ? (ghana have USA and czechs have italy innit)
