I was of the same opinion, though after today's performance that might need a re-think.

DC put his chin into vettel and ended both their days early + uncharacteristic crashing in previous races and qualifying < Rubens doing pretty well in one of the worst cars on the grid.

i was fully expecting him to pull into the garage and call it a day when he was pitting from force-india land toward the end of the race.

He certainly was on Sunday, what a shit race. I really think Ferrari needs to take a hard look at the folks crewing the pits, because their screwups there are really hurting them. McLaren and BMW are spanking them in the pit and fuel strategy department.

lol, living what dream? Being a bukkake pivot?

Really looking forward to Hockenheim, Massa was tops on the timesheets on the final day of testing. He REALLY needs a win. There are all sorts of rumors flying that Ferrari are assembling a war chest to acquire Vettel, and this makes me worry about Massa's place. I've heard rumors about Kimi retiring (to drink full time) at the end of this season, he says he's got a contract. I just can't see him giving it up after a fairly short career, and I also can't see Ferrari kicking Massa to the curb when he's tied for the championship lead atm and having a fairly good season.

so, Hammy on pole with an ace performance, looks like he's going to try and ride the momentum from last race as long as he can.
Also fantastic drive from Trulli... His quali speed is really the only bright spot toyota has had in recent years.

big :olo: goes to kimi for a nice job of sucking and starting behind alonso and trulli.

Brilliant drive by Hamilton, absolutely brilliant. Fuck you Massa, with the race HANDED TO YOU, you couldn't catch Piquet or hold off Hamilton. You sir, SUCK. At least you finished ahead of Kimi. :olo:
Speaking of Piquet, fucking lol! Enjoy it Nelsinho, it's not going to happen again any time soon. :olo:

Oh, and I managed to get a transcript of Ron Dennis' encrypted transmission to Heikki towards the end of the race:
"Eikki-hay, et-lay ewis-lay y-bay."

Anyone have any idea what that might mean?

werd... fucking ace job by lewis.
ferrari sucked all day, wtf massa.
jesus, he had 15 laps after the safety car to pass nelson "my name got me a ride in f1 i probably don't really deserve" piquet jr. and couldn't even get any pressure on the renault. :olo:
good form from kimi as well... riding the back of the points all day long.

so what's happened to rosberg? i really thought he was going to be more of a force, even in a williams, but his season isn't really going anywhere fast.

 to lewis, he seems to be the only one left that really wants to win this thing.

I don't think Rosberg has the ability to push the car development like Alonso or Schumi. Either that or the car's just not up to snuff. He says that the FW30 is more suited to particular tracks, but he said that Hockenheim was one of them. Dunno, but I'm rather diappointed with him so far. He really should have gone for the seat Alonse vacated. Here's hoping he might get the seat at Ferrari that Massa's probably about to lose.

so i just got done watching an hour collection of Ayrton Senna on-board cameras from 1989-92.
good to check out the older cars since I've only been a "fan" for about 10 years.
dude was hardcore good at suzuka, and i've never seen anyone as aggressive (and kind of scary) at monaco. all compounded by the era of poor camera stabilizing technology. shaky-cam makes it all seem so much rougher and nutty.

as soon as i get some time i'm going to also check out the 1994 san marino grand prix... since i never saw it and i found a download of the entire weekend's coverage (practice, qualifying, everything).

It really was that much rougher back then. In those days, the cars had flat bottoms, so the distance between the bottom of the car and the track surface was extremely critical. They had to run very stiff suspension settings, because the aerodynamics would not allow much variance. Most of the suspension travel actually came from the tires.

Senna's onboard footage is at least 10 times more exciting to watch than any of the modern day F1 onboard footage. The roughness, the manual shifting, and the engine noise all provided that much more flair. My fav is his pole lap at Jerez from 1990. There's a similar footage from Berger (Senna's teammate then), and you could see just how much better and more precise Senna was (the result speaks for itself).

given kimi's shit performance again today in quali, i'm beginning to wonder if he just isn't interested anymore and those rumors of his early retirement might have some weight.

speaking of quali, big up to Timo Glock, wtf ?? did that crash in germany knock some extra talent into him? Or does hitting a wall backward at 150mph+ and walking away take the fear out of driving so he can push the car closer to its limits?
either way... bodes well for toyota's future if their performance isn't a fluke of the hungaroring being so twisty and hiding the lower than everyone else performance of the toyota lump.

cant they just wave some money about and make it happen ? or dont it work like that in F1?

im thinking that ferrari are gunna need another 2 drivers.... i thought the same thing as you about kimi and im also thinking that massa isnt gunna cut it in the camp :/

kubica + alonso would be a tad worrying, but fun :)

Alonso's contract w/Renault has an out clause for "poor team performance" so don't bank on him staying there. Ross Brawn was just quoted this weekend saying that he thinks Fred's the best driver on the grid, so look for him to replace Rubens next season if he goes anywhere.
Well done to Lewis and Kovi, the Mclarens are on fire. Big fucking lol at Raikkonnen.
Too bad I'll be in the air when the race is on tomorrow.

fucking SHITTY luck for Massa. i was really wanting him to take it home. fuck Kovi, lucky bastard. Kimi not a brilliant drive, but 3rd place is still good points. toyota seem to be kicking it up which is nice to see and another congrats to the underachiever Piquet.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK! Goddamn brilliant drive by Massa ruined by a fucking mechanical failure. It was still great to watch him do almost exactly what Hamilton did to him at Hockenheim, except Massa threw a beautiful pass in on top of it. :olo: No overtaking in Hungary my dying ass...

That was my reaction as well. He would have been in the lead and everything.
