Serious reforms are needed though, if anything is abundantly clear it's that the EU needs to change. To name a few things i'd be for:
- get rid of the rotating EU presidency and actually elect a person who stays in power for a set term. As in, actual people should elect this person, not the parliament.
- make it so that i can vote for say, a Spanish party in EU elections
- seriously reduce the size of the EU parliament, it's far too large to be effective
- take a hard look at the subsidies and axe a whole bunch of them
In short, make the average European feel like he has something to say about the EU project instead of making it this vague thing in Brussels you have little say over. And reduce the waste, there's so much waste... and most of it is a result of politically motivated deals (hey if you frenchies vote for this thing we promise not to bring up those ridiculous wine subsidies you claim are so important). Etc, etc.
In any case, like Phant, i'm actually worried about my future a little. Because this is going to make all of us poorer... goddamnit.
And get rid of the likes of Romania and Greece. It's a joke that the financially stable countries have to pick up their tabs.
Also this will be a perfect chance for Scotland to hold another independence referendum and distance themselves from their retarded cousin.

Why would this happen? Because seremtan... I mean... Varoufakis said so?

Woah horsey, there are genuine problems - I mean for a start we now get to attack TTIP in our own house, rather than having it forced through over their heads.
Another dick example is if Scotland did want to become independent then Spain has already said they would veto the move. The EU deserves a good portion of the blame. It's why the Brit public had no shortage of problems to select when making their decision.

Because then certain Spanish regions would quite possibly do likewise.
That veto power thing is something else that absolutely has to go (or at least should be drastically limited) - right now 27 countries can be for something and 1 against and bam, it's off the table.

How so? Nothing fundamentally wrong with a majority vote thing. You can even invent some rules like 'it has to be under 35% no to still pass' or whatever.

Well, as an example, Britain is using a different currency to the rest of Europe so would naturally want to protect it. If a vote passed where the euro benefits but the pound takes it hit, that wouldn't be fair imo. It also leaves the door open for Europe to suck the value from the pound, If I were being cynical. There's also nothing wrong with protecting your own interests
You can adapt it to different scenarios, I'm sure Greece, Italy and Spain have a few sob stories.
And if you think it would be a good idea to adopt the Euro then after 2007 I disagree.
Living in Wales you learn to hate a central government that makes all your decisions by simply being outnumbered.

A customer who came in here today said he was really worried about what'll happen next. When asked how he voted, he voted leave, because his wife voted to stay and he thought he should "even up the household"... lol

Nope, remain. I earn £60k+ and have started investing, plus I'd like the money in my house to stay where it is. However I respect the democratic process, and I'm not a little bitch.
